Tips on 3D Hair Modeling

So a few months ago I started a game called Edd

I recently updated the character models to look more human/cartoony like and with that I have to make all new assets such as clothing, hair, and much more. Now the character design itself is fairly simple but the part I struggle with is Hair Modeling.

I have absolutely 0 experience in 3D Hair Modeling so I was hoping I can get some tips and tricks on getting unique natural designs that I can use for making tons of hair models.

Feedback or support would help a lot. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to hair modeling.

One of the main methods for quick and easy hair modelling is via curves! A nice tutorial covering this method can be found here, but keep in mind a few adjustments have to be made for the sake of optimizing for roblox!

The circle curve you’ll be using should be a plane of some sort (quad or tri) that you convert into a curve like this:

And you should be setting your curve resolution to the 4-8 range here:

Remember to convert to a mesh, do merging where you need to, and you’re all set!
