Tips on making Cartoony Icons?

Hiya! This is my first post on the DevForum, so my apologies if there are any issues with this post!

Are there any tips on how I could make nice, Cartoony Icons? Similar to the ones listed below. (All of these are Roblox group icons, none are owned by me.)

If you have any tips, I’d love to hear them! Please also inform me if there are any issues or stuff I can work on with posting in the future.

you can try doing vector art, those usually give off a cartoony effect

yes, Adobe Illustrator is recommended for icons. E.g. making the text, then the background etc
But since Roblox is converting them to png or smthing, you won’t see vectors but pixels ( e.g group or decal ).

I recommend using Photoshop if you’re not already. If you don’t have the money “Gimp” might also work, but i’ve never really used Gimp so i’m not sure if it will work or not.

Here is something I made with Photoshop:

Inscape is a free open source software similar to adobe illustrator, this is a quite good software for more of a beginner learner I would recommend experimenting with it as you could make cartoony logos - icons and many more things out of it. While adobe illustrator is a decent software you could produce similar things inside a open source program.

There are more alternatives out there that produce similar looks (Gimp, Illustrator, etc.), these are more common software. There’s lots of programs out there, with different workflows and curves, so knowing which software can produce this cartoony style, many programs have the capability to achieve this look. A quick search can provide you with many results and different alternatives.
