Tool animations not loading properly

So I made these animations using Motor6Ds and following this tutorial, but the tool ends up in the default position every time.

It looks like this in the editor:
image

Here’s how it looks in game:
image

In case you can’t see it, the sword is tilted to face forward in the first one. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? I don’t get how this is working for other people.

Are you attempting to make an idle animation for the tool? If so I have been working on a tool animation script and would be happy to give it to you.

I’m trying to make a walking and an idle animation. I have a script that can play both, it’s just that the tool doesn’t move, but the rest of the body does.

Is your tool’s handle anchored?

Make sure that the Handle of the tool is un-anchored but the Mesh inside the Handle is anchored

Nope. None of the parts that make up the tool are anchored.
Edit: Oh yeah, I they’re Mesh Parts so I don’t know if that means anything.

Can I see the script that animates it?

I got it from this video because it was basically the only one I could find that actually works. I tried making my own but I’m just too inexperienced.

Could you just paste the script into here? I am too lazy to look at the free model lol

Here it is. It’s pretty long. There’s probably a much more efficient way of doing this.

local Torso = Figure:WaitForChild("Torso")

local LeftShoulder = Torso:WaitForChild("Left Shoulder")

Sorry I was helping someone else.

Yes, there is a more efficient way of doing this and I will give you the script I made that will give you will allow you to make an idle and equip animation.

Currently, I haven’t added a walk animation but I can add one in a few days and let you know what to change.

The script:

-- Locations --
local tool = script.Parent

---------------[ANIMATIONS]---------------

--(Idle)--
local idleID = the id
local idleanim = Instance.new("Animation")
idleanim.AnimationId = ("https://www.roblox.com/Assest?ID=" .. idleID)

--(Equip)--
local equipID = the id
local equipanim = Instance.new("Animation")
equipanim.AnimationId = ("https://www.roblox.com/Assest?ID=" .. equipID)

---------------[EXTRAS]---------------

local equip
local idle

---------------[FUNCTIONS]---------------

tool.Equipped:Connect(function()

	equip = script.Parent.Parent.Parent.Humanoid:LoadAnimation(equipanim)
	equip.Priority = Enum.AnimationPriority.Action2

	idle = script.Parent.Parent.Parent.Humanoid:LoadAnimation(idleanim)
	idle.Priority = Enum.AnimationPriority.Idle

	equip:Play()

	wait(equip animation length)

	idle:Play()

end)

---------------------------------

tool.Unequipped:Connect(function()

	if idle then
		idle:Stop()
	end

	if equip then
		equip:Stop()
	end

end)

---------------------------------

It’s very organized because that’s how I script but hopefully, it’s easy to understand.

Let me know if you have any problems!

Totally not me sending the default animate script instead of the freemodel one by accident. Thank you for the help, though. I’ll probably butcher this somehow but I’ll try to get it to work for me.

have you tried to create a motor6d if you equip the tool?

Alright, I’ll try to have a working walk animation by tomorrow, it could take longer though since I have like 3 separate things to work on.

task.wait(equip.Length) this is quite useful to know.

I didn’t even know that. Thank you! I will change my script now.
