Simple repro steps:
- Get a tool/hopper bin that sets the icon (ex: Old Linked Sword)
- Equip and unequip it.
- Look at your mouse icon.

Yep – just noticed it.
I thought I did something wrong in my own game, so I went and wrote and algorithm to reset the mouse icon on respawn. derp.
Been noticing this all day. Hoping it will get fixed soon.
This has been a problem, from monday or so last week.
Why would the icon reset when you drop the tool? I understand why y’all think it should, but from an engine side, it makes sense for it not to change back. When you set the icon, you aren’t actually doing it through the tool; you are using the players mouse object.
However, there are two types of (mice?)
One is a Tool’s Mouse, while the other is the player’s – they’re different. If you set the Tool’s mouse’s icon, it makes sense to revert it back since the tool is no longer active.

It also makes sense just because this has been the expected behavior for several years.
Bump
This problem is annoying me and lots of people in my game.
Fixed, please let me know if this is still an issue.
The problem still persists for me, just now it only happens with the first tool I equip instead of whichever I had last equipped, still the exact same repro
Do any of those tools have the linked source property set?
If that means things like LinkedSwords, no. They items I used where at places like the Innovation HQ, Twisted Murder, and other games with custom tools.
This seems to be fixed, though I noticed that it still occurs in studio. My guess is that this update just hasn’t been shipped out to studio yet? This isn’t urgent, it’s just irritating with the altered cursor getting in the way of studio tools.
I’m still having this problem. I was playing this game (Rocket Royale [R VERSION COMING OUT!] - Roblox), in which the tools use the regular/reloading gun cursors, and when I would unequip the tool my cursor would be stuck as the “Reloading” gun cursor. It didn’t happen all the time, but it did happen. Next time I’ll try to grab a screenshot.
