Hello everyone,
As of yesterday (4/10/2018), I have confirmed that there is yet another huge update coming to Tornado Alley ROBLOX in the summer of 2018. This won’t be as massive as the ‘BIG’ update, but this will definitely be one of the bigger updates that will be delivered. I won’t get into details on what content this update covers today, but I will say that one very important aspect of this update is that it’s going to affect data. There will be a FULL DATA WIPE.
In the past, leading up to the BIG update, there was once a reset on Points data when we converted the in-game currency from Points into Coins. We have decided to do the first ever (and the last ever) data wipe when this new update releases. This means that when the update releases in the summer, all All coins, survivals, and inventory items will be wiped. Why?
For this new update, I have a completely brand new data system implemented. The current data system is very inefficient, and with so many requests being sent to the server to save/gather data, this has been causing severe data lose, and it is impossible to fix with the current data system.
There are a lot of reasons that proved a data wipe is necessary. Here are just a few:

Many players have reported they have negative coin amounts (ex. -40,000 coins.) due to the messy old data system. Data wipe will reset all of these, and provide these players with a fresh start.

Current global leaderboards are out of sync with actual leaderboards (again due to data lose, and outdated data system.)

Obvious constant data lose complaints.
There has not been a data wipe in Tornado Alley ROBLOX’s history. In fact users still have data surviving from Tornado Alley 2 (2014). Considering there has been many major changes since then, a data wipe is necessary.
This update will fix all of these issues with the new data system. It will be much more efficient, and will eradicate any possibilities for severe data lose in the future.
I understand this may be an inconvenience for some, but this is the best route to take. Please understand that no data will be wiped until the new update releases (summer 2018.) So until then, you may save coins, spend coins, buy coins, etc.
I hope you all understand. I know this may be saddening news for some, but I wanted to get this news out there as fast as possible to give you all a heads up. I promise you this update brings amazing new things to the series, as well as some old favorites returning!
