PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS THREAD & READ IT CAREFULLY, Thank you.
Hello Tornado Alley Ultimate Beta Testers,
The time is finally almost here to open Tornado Alley Ultimate’s Beta. This thread will describe everything you need to know regarding the beta, so please read it carefully.
Firstly, the Tornado Alley Ultimate Beta is going to play out differently than intended. As you know, the goal of Tornado Alley Ultimate is to bring together all of the Tornado Alley series, which it’s still going to do so. However, this is extremely time-consuming to do, as there’s a lot of content to (still) add.
Not only this, but the other developer, pattywompus, who specialized in map design (creating the maps, etc.), could no longer work on the game since March for personal reasons. Meaning I currently have all the work-load on myself, which is extremely difficult to manage within a time-frame. I wanted the beta to include all of the content that would be in the official release, but there’s just no way that’s going to happen. With only me working on the game, I’m doing my best to finish it up, but there’s no way everything will be ready by beta release.
So, instead of delaying the beta to finish up the rest of the game, I’m still going to release the beta. However, it’s going to work out way different than it was intended to.
Instead of the Tornado Alley Ultimate Beta lasting a week, it’s going to probably last multiple weeks. Only group members will be allowed to play it, and I will no longer be accepting any new members to the Tornado Alley Community group until the official release.
As for the beta itself,
Group members will be able to play it sometime soon (I’ll announce a day sometime soon). During the beta test, I’m going to constantly add more and more content to the game until all promised content is added and finished.
Your goal as a beta tester is to test for as many bugs as possible. Do whatever you possibly can to break the game. If you do find a bug, please explain in detail how you replicated that bug by sending a message to me on Twitter @1billybob1, or to my ROBLOX messages.
Every week or so during the beta, I’ll be releasing new maps, gamemodes, features, bug fixes, and polishing up stuff as the beta rolls along.
To sum it up:
Beta will launch sometime soon (in July.) It will consist of ONLY these maps on launch:
- Fort Blox
- Timberton
- Death Valley
- Rome
- Boardwalk
- Neighborhood
It will also not have every gamemode ready by launch.
Every Monday during the Beta, more content will be added, whether that’s new maps, gamemodes, features, etc.
Here’s what will NOT be ready by beta launch, but will be added sometime during beta testing:
- Pets
- Upgrades
- Summon Disasters
- Not All Maps are finished/implemented
- Not All Gamemodes are finished/implemented
- Not All Accessories are finished/implemented
- Not All Achievements are finished/implemented
- Not All Effects are implemented/implemented
Also, remember that all data saved in the beta will be completely wiped when official release happens. Meaning all in-game purchases and game passes will be disabled during all beta testing.
So what I’m really trying to say is the full game is not NEARLY ready, but I’m not going to have you guys wait because of a delay.
DO NOT EXPECT the full game when beta releases. It’s still going to lack a lot of content when beta releases, which is okay, because beta versions of games are usually very lackluster in content.
I hope this clears things up, see you for testing soon!
