Touch-screen devices ( eg touch screen laptops, microsoft surface ) are recognised as tablets regardless of if they have a kbm attached. This causes people with touch-screen laptops to be unable to play games that have play on tablet disabled.
I reported it before. Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub
Sharpnine (head of the web team) had me send the network data that would show what type of device it is on my all-in-one (minus the ROBLOSECURITY cookie), but I haven’t heard anything back since he replied that he got it.
i know this is a helluva gravedig ( 235 days! ) but i’m still getting complaints from players that want to play on their laptops. any chance we could have this looked at?
I’ve never had this issue. My laptop is touchscreen. I think it’s more than having a touchscreen laptop. You’ll need a real repro that works 100% of the time. As I can play games desktop only, and I have a touchscreen, this is not a reliable repro.
I’d talk to a few of the users for more info.
Found one more piece of the bug: It is only a bug in Internet Explorer. It isn’t repro-able in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
Just confirmed it.
Repro steps:
(100% requires touchscreen display!)
1 Make a new place
2 Set it to not allow tablets
3 Open Internet Explorer and go to the game
4 Receive not available on your platform message
Interesting that this bug occurs on an application which you can’t use on a tablet.
