For a while now I have been trying to create a truck trailer however I am stuck at the wheels of the trailer. My problem is that the wheels either don’t move at all or just very slightly. I’ve been using cylindrical constraints but they don’t seem to budge.
What is the HingeConstraint | Roblox Creator Documentation set to? If it’s Motor or Servo then it won’t rotate freely.
Are the wheels Welded to the trailer? Do the wheels contact any part of the trailer/fenders to keep them from rotating? You can go into Studio Settings and turn PhysicsSettings | Roblox Creator Documentation on to show spheres at contact points during testing which is very handy for vehicles with suspension or other moving Parts.
The hinge type is set to none and I did your other suggestion, the only contact is the one with the ground.
Are your Attachments offset and pulling the wheels into the chassis?
After testing I found out that it was the wheels I was using so I just welded them onto invisible cylinder parts. I don’t know why the wheels were not working I speculate it could have something to do with them being meshes, but it works now. Thanks, Scott for helping!
What was the Mesh Collision shape set to, Box?
Mesh wheels can cause issues, if you use a plugin or set your Studio Settings to True for PhysicsSettings | Roblox Creator Documentation you’ll get to see what Unions and Meshes shapes really are. Some may surprise you!
As you did, if I’ve got Mesh wheels I usually Weld them to Parts that Roblox has performing as true round shapes. Unless I’m making a slow speed crawler type vehicle, where having ‘rough’ wheels can help with traction.
