Trails do not properly show up when the trail emitting part is offscreen

Desription: When a trail emitting part moves towards a place whose player cant see it, the trail will simply not replicate at all.

Started happening ever since trails were added. Happens in both studio and ingame.

Above is what the left player should be able to see. (Ignore not being able to see the trail of the right player)

Above is what happens when the trail emitting part gets off the screen of the player in the left.

Replication:

  • Ingame, move a trail emitting part via scripting infront of a player from an area the player can see to an area the player cannot see, as such in the pictures above.

Is this issue still happening? Could you please provide a placefile with the steps to reproduce.

We haven’t been able to reproduce this issue. As seen in the video below, the trails persist even when the attachments are offscreen. I’m assuming this issue no longer happens.

Same on my end, thanks for fixing it

I am still experiencing this issue. I am creating guns that use trails. The bullets are quite fast and make large jumps each frame. If a bullet moves offscreen for a client the trail stops rendering. It’s a minor issue but there is seemingly no workaround.

Could you please provide a .rbxl file and video so that we can easily reproduce the issue?

I have attached a video demonstrating the issue and a link to the DM containing the place file.
When the player on the left of the screen fires the gun upwards (in a direction out of sight for the second player) the trail does not render at all for the second player. The same issue sometimes occurs when the first player shoots at a point behind the second player.
