Would anyone be interested in joining a train simulator approved by real train staff?
Realism Railways is a realistic (hence the name) upcoming train simulator set in the UK. The first route I am planning on developing is Middlesbrough-London King’s Cross, a long distance intercity route using the LNER Class 800/2 Bi-mode unit.
Recently I spoke to a train guard who was interested in my simulator, I showed him my work and he said that “it would be the kind of thing we really need for training both Guards and Drivers”. I’ve also talked with a few others in the same field, all of which have responded highly positively with my work.
Here are some screenshots attached from early development:
This is just a small selection of work I have completed, including models and signage that I have entirely recreated from real life images. There is also audio recorded by myself using a portable audio recorder.
As you can see, there is a level of detail added that has never been seen before on the Roblox platform, and I am very hopeful that this project will become more popular.
Some new features of Realism Railways
- Train cabs cab be set up and shut down and all controls will be functional.
- Taking over (relieving) services driven by other drivers when shifts are over.
- Players can make their own announcements using voice chat (feature will be released when Roblox’s newer audio assets are added).
- Tickets can be bought for services and seats can be reserved.
- Being able to use intermediate gangway/vestibule doors.
- Food will be present in the simulator for the journeys (catering services)!
If you are interested in joining, feel free to do so. I have a Discord server for community matters, this can be found on the group page: Realism Railways Community Group - Roblox
Thank you everyone, and I hope to see you there!
