Train Simulator Approved by Rail Employees

Would anyone be interested in joining a train simulator approved by real train staff?

Realism Railways is a realistic (hence the name) upcoming train simulator set in the UK. The first route I am planning on developing is Middlesbrough-London King’s Cross, a long distance intercity route using the LNER Class 800/2 Bi-mode unit.

Recently I spoke to a train guard who was interested in my simulator, I showed him my work and he said that “it would be the kind of thing we really need for training both Guards and Drivers”. I’ve also talked with a few others in the same field, all of which have responded highly positively with my work.

Here are some screenshots attached from early development:

This is just a small selection of work I have completed, including models and signage that I have entirely recreated from real life images. There is also audio recorded by myself using a portable audio recorder.

As you can see, there is a level of detail added that has never been seen before on the Roblox platform, and I am very hopeful that this project will become more popular.

Some new features of Realism Railways

  • Train cabs cab be set up and shut down and all controls will be functional.
  • Taking over (relieving) services driven by other drivers when shifts are over.
  • Players can make their own announcements using voice chat (feature will be released when Roblox’s newer audio assets are added).
  • Tickets can be bought for services and seats can be reserved.
  • Being able to use intermediate gangway/vestibule doors.
  • Food will be present in the simulator for the journeys (catering services)!

If you are interested in joining, feel free to do so. I have a Discord server for community matters, this can be found on the group page: Realism Railways Community Group - Roblox

Thank you everyone, and I hope to see you there!

To answer your question; yes! Even if it wasn’t approved by actual Guards!

The detail on that train cab is something I have personally never seen before (in terms of train games). Even the buttons have textures!

As I personally live in the UK, I can’t wait to see the finished game!
Also after looking in your DC server, I am very impressed with what you have managed to create so far.

I really look forward to seeing this game in its final stage!

Thanks for your feedback, it’s very helpful to me!

The image with the buttons is actually the Guard panel, but it looks similar. The cab is currently being built and it’s got a lot more buttons and controls!

Everything I do when building the simulator has to be perfect so I spend a very long time adding detail and maximising realism.

I hope you will add actual pneumatic systems aslong with realistic circuits, not just some basic controls where you hold W to speed up and S to slow down. No, you aren’t the first game to have “a level of detail never seen before on Roblox”, there are other projects just like yours which take detail in a serious way.
Anyways, good luck with the development of your simulator and don’t miss out anything on the driving experience because it would make the simulation disapointing.

The control systems will be properly built, using the notch system for most. They will be much better than the usual W and S speed controls. Brake bars and metres will also be fully functioning.

The detail I mean is in the Railway Simulation genre on Roblox. I am aware that there are other experiences that have a lot of serious detail.

Thanks for your feedback! :+1:

This train simulator you have created looks GREAT! Nice job on it so far! When are you planning on releasing it fully? How long did it take to create? It’s cool and realistic!

Thanks!

I’ll be releasing it with a special event when I have completed at least one full route. I first created the experience on a previous account 3 years ago, so it’s been in development for a long time!

Sounds promising then! Looking forward to more progress posted about this because there’s not many games that take into account realism, once again good luck with yours.
