Trouble making "natural looking" snow effect over rock

For the next part of my game, I would like there to be a thin layer of snow over rock. The problem is, I can’t figure out how to do that without making it look “unnatural”.

Here’s the effect that I want to make:

And this is what it’s turned out as:

It doesn’t look horrible, but it doesn’t have the snow “scatter” effect that I would like it to have. Is there any easy-ish way to do this?

I’ve already looked on the devforum for answers, but couldn’t find anything relating.

Edit: I also think it’d be good for having snow sort of “fade into” a part of the temple.

maybe use some meshes? it could be better like via a slope of the sorts.

This could work depending on what I ended up making, but it seems a bit painful to make a mesh for each stair, though I haven’t made enough meshes to know if it would be.

you could just have a preset of 3 maybe and then just resize or reuse them for steps; it may seem unnatural but its an option that could be easier.

It is roblox.

You could literally make a mesh like the initial image and port it into roblox and it’ll look like crap.

However, some tips from someone who doesn’t build:

  • Use materials (especially PBRs, Free PBR Materials) in your work;
  • Use lighting appropriately;
  • Learn how to use blender, or any other 3D modelling software, in most cases you can make something better by 3D modelling it in specific software.
