Can’t really put down the ‘As a Roblox Developer’ sentence as it isn’t related to developing that much, but what is really annoying is when I click play on a game, and, say for example, go to a new tab and resume typing something, Roblox automatically opens around 2 times on average, when i minimize it, it comes back up again, which can be quite annoying.
It would be nice if it could be minimized to the taskbar until you want to open it.
I’ll see what the team think. The other thread is more so of a bug report that the launcher takes control of the screen twice whereas this is a feature request asking that it doesn’t even open automatically or take control at all so it’s a slightly different thread. I will update this post when I have more information.
I think it should switch once to remind the user that they clicked on a Roblox game, but twice is a bit much. Maybe when the game finishes loading, instead of switching, a popup asking to switch to the game would be better. I think it should do something like this at least in full screen mode.
There is little to no need to automatically switch back to the roblox client. If the ROBLOX client is opened, the user knowingly clicked “play” and watched the loading dialog box pop up on the site.
If I open the roblox client and want to switch tabs to say, studio as an example, I shouldn’t have to manually tab 6 times to get to the tab I want.
Windows has a feature where windows needing attention can flash orange in the taskbar. This is probably a much nicer alternative that interfering with the user’s workflow by forcing them out of what they’re working on.
Also relating to someone with a slow network that someone said, if they clicked play then they would obviously know that they clicked play and won’t need a reminder.
A flashing icon once it’s done loading the game and starts running user scripts would be great. Also I could have sworn we had this same discussion in 2015 somewhere, is the client opening itself a regression?
I saw this thread again and came back to it, and wanted to see if it was still happening, looks like it isn’t! I’m not sure when it stopped, but thanks for removing this annoying error!
