'Tutorials' area made public

You know this area?

It contains so many helpful things that everyone would find useful, it would be nice if guests could view this (but not post obviously or idk) I do remember this being mentioned by an admin sometime but it was whoosh with the wind.

It will help people to develop their games = more great devs applying for RBX Dev

If that happened then everyone would just repost threads from other subforums so that guests could view them. It would be terrible. Not to mention guests have no way of asking questions if someone writes a bad tutorial.

Found the thread

Problem is, people aren’t going to post stuff there like they used to when it is now seen by the public. People may not even post tutorials on there, and it may be a waste of a subforum.

The obvious solution to this is to tell people not to, and ban people who do it anyway. They won’t even have the veil of anonymity to hide behind.

It pretty much already is anyway. It’s been around for almost six months and doesn’t even have a second page.

I believe we discussed this before and I countered the argument. This forum is designed for developers of ROBLOX. If we wanted to release a tutorial publicly we could speak to a wiki-writer, or alternatively post it on the ROBLOX forums. The fact it was posted here suggests the posters first intentions were that only developers would see it.

I for one made a tutorial that I didn’t want going public. It used my Web API, and the fact this tutorial did actually make it public (somehow) caused me to have to shut the API down. It’s a measure of control. A few users here is much easier to manage and deal with than possibly thousands more.
