Tycoon game [FEEDBACK PLEASE]

I am making a Game Creator Tycoon and went with very explicit feedback, now I am almost thinking I went too far…

Please tell me what you think about the interaction with unlocking stations.

I am also going for a bit more social than average so I am thinking of having 4 players to start (I am afraid of performance if I go higher).

Also, as Tycoons have a bad rep for agressive monetization, what do you think is acceptable? I was thinking on going mostly for exclusive visual features and maybe some sort of temp multiplier?

Let me try again, hang on.

Hmmm I don’t know

It still shows this :frowning:

Nope, it still does not work. Does it work with mobile?

Please retry.

AHHHHH I disliked on accident. Im sorry and now it says im voting to quick. I will like later.

Wow this game is pretty good for a game with a 0% like rating

I would recommend adding a map since it’s just on a baseplate and roblox players love having bright colors flashing at their face.

The GUI is very nice but I think overall the game could use more VFX/SFX and some music.

I assume you’ll add more to the game though as you beat it in like 1 minute.

Yes, thanks for the feedback, it is indeed a prototype at this stage, not really a game yet. Just wanted to make sure I am in the right track with the base mechanics.
Please post as many comments as you can, it will help me a lot as I build it up!

And yes, I want to build like a city center, with a few areas to get upgrades and perks, like mascots, coffee, cars, dunno yet what else.

Suggestions for Improving the Game

1. Add Sound Effects & Music
Right now, the game feels a little quiet and can become bland over time. Adding background music and purchase sound effects (like a “cha-ching” for upgrades) would make everything feel much more engaging and rewarding. This may help: Ruski’s Tutorial #4 - How to Immersify Your Experience with Audio - Resources / Community Tutorials - Developer Forum | Roblox

2. Adjust Starting Cash
Instead of starting players with 550 cash, I’d recommend having them start at 0 cash and giving them a free starter plot or a free first purchase. This makes progression feel smoother and more natural, rather than having money handed to you at the beginning.

3. Add a Tutorial / Guidance System
Most tycoons use arrows or glowing indicators to guide new players toward their next purchase. Adding something like this would make the early game experience less confusing and help players feel more directed.

4. Add More Purchases
Right now, you can complete the game in about 5 minutes. To keep players invested, you’ll want to add more upgrades, workers, and expansions. The more there is to buy, the longer players will stick around.

5. Expand the Map
Instead of just a baseplate, adding a small map would make the game world feel more alive. This could include decorations, props, or even extra areas players can unlock as they progress. This may help: Map Making (tips & tricks) - Resources / Community Resources - Developer Forum | Roblox

6. Add Rebirths
Rebirths give players a reason to keep playing after they’ve finished the tycoon. You could add rewards like permanent multipliers, unique skins, or leaderboards to show off how many times someone has rebirthed.

7. Playtime Rewards
With Creator Rewards being introduced, playtime matters more than ever. Adding rewards for time spent (such as small cash bonuses, crates, or skins every 10–15 minutes) can encourage players to stay in the game longer.

8. Data
You NEED saving data. I get that this is a prototype but just keep in mind that you can not release a game if the players data just disappears after leaving

Things I Like

1. Ui
I really like the minimalistic ui for showing your stats.

2. Game Play
I like the way the game feels while playing. :+1:

Things I Do Not Understand

1. Stats
I do not know what the fans, and gems stats do. Maybe explain those?

Monetization Ideas

Here are some strong monetization features you could add:

1. VIP Gamepass

2. Sprint Gamepass

  • Increases walkspeed.
  • Especially useful if you add a map with crates, hidden items, or other reasons to move around faster.

3. Developer Products for Cash

  • Players can purchase in-game currency directly.
  • Works best once you have plenty of upgrades to spend it on, so it feels worth buying.

4. Crates / Skins System

  • Add crates players can buy with in-game cash to unlock worker skins, tools, or special effects.
  • You could also add premium crates that are Robux-exclusive.
  • Keeps players engaged with a “collection” system and encourages repeat spending.

Overall, I really like your game and I think it has a lot of potential if you continue to build on it. I hope this feedback is helpful as you think about the future direction of the game.

As for monetization, I personally don’t think adding a lot of options is bad — the only time it becomes a problem is when it interferes with the actual gameplay. For example, constant pop-ups are super annoying (AHHH, I can’t stand those). As long as purchases stay in the shop and don’t interrupt the experience, players who are interested can buy them, and players who aren’t can just keep playing. That balance usually works best.

These will be higher tier currency. You start with cash but then you start generating Fans via Marketing and promotion, and then, later, you start generating even more valuable currency to get you unlocking higher-tier stations and features.

Glad you liked it. Yes, I have content just to explain the basics, not really to keep players engaged yet. Thanks!
