I’m fairly new to UI works on ROBLOX as I usually just stick to back-end programming but I decided to give it a shot for an upcoming tycoon kit I’m creating.
I just thought i’d post a photo of some of the UI for now to get some feedback and just showcase what I can do with 3 weeks of learning UI works.
It’s actually really good, for someone who has only started recently its actually impressive its very natural on the eyes and eye catching where it needs to be!
What I would change:
Verify: The body of the text is slightly too big, it brings less attention to the title and overall doesn’t wrap around very well to read properly
Warning: It’s slightly cluttered layout, the warning seems like its not most relevant to the body of text its near.
How I would change the Warning section:
Rebirthing gives you a 1.1x Cash Boost and allows you to buy Rebirth Buttons!
<REBIRTH BUTTON> <REBIRTH LOGO + SMALL TEXT OVERLAYED SHOWING NUMBER OF YOUR REBIRTHS>
WARNING! (In smaller text)
Rebirthing makes you lose all your progress and restart!
I’d love to see your changes, but as a whole the style is consistent and really nice.
Disappointed whenever I see real talent go towards attention-stealing slop games. When I see UIs with this exact style, I immediately quit the game. Although, I have the benefit of being able to recognize exploitative patterns; younger players can’t say the same and get easily ensnared by these colorful, flashy graphics and misleading prices.
Honestly, It’s not a fan favourite myself. It’s just what brings attention and it’s a competitive market out here for game-design so you have to kind of go with the flow if you wanna do anything these days. I appreciate the honest criticism nontheless but this kind of UI design is a popular theme at the moment for most users.
Its really good, but it’s very generic. Every tycoon/simulator does this. I do see you are making it in that style, but if you plan to use this for a game, I say you try to make something more unique.
Thanks for the constructive criticism. Generic was what I was aiming for. It’s something people are used to meaning it’s good for FTUE as they’ll understand the UI and it’ll come across easy for them to use. This might help with increased game-time considering it won’t confuse people as much as overcomplicated UI and clutter.
