UGC Program: Expanding Creation and Monetization with Avatar Bodies and Heads

Seems like the first heads and bodys to come out are the memes! what did I say!

Although I hope there will be some solid nice bodies and heads coming out soon like classic 1.0 bodies but with skinned meshes so it doesn’t look all blocky and messy!

(Ugc creators take this idea as much as you want)

It rolled out yesterday but a few didnt make bodies and heads in time since it is too hard,i guess?

The fact that 3 of the UGC bodies are the exact same meshes, but with different eye colors, isn’t a good sign.

Seems like there’s been an oversight where every single UGC bundle’s preset costume is forcing Rthro scaling (Body Type 100%, Proportions 0%), even if the creator did not import the avatar with Rthro.

This should probably be fixed as soon as possible, because this means that, by default, characters are often way taller than they should be when you equip them.

i joined in 2018 and yet i use r6, it just looks better imo

There is currently no way to modify eye colors on existing avatars so they need to be uploaded this way. Obviously the tech for customizing avatars will improve in the future and people won’t need to upload several different versions of an avatar with small changes.

still, if we’ve learned anything from the UGC disaster (people copying limited items and each others items) then this is indeed a VERY BAD sign.

Please fix the bug where it seems most bundles are uploading without eyes, teeth, or a tongue. :frowning:

UGC isn’t a disaster and the moderation has been very good as of recent in taking down “Fake Limiteds”. They can do better to remove the hairs that are being uploaded as face accessories but that’s beyond the point of this thread. Please stay on topic.

What a bold-faced lie considering I had an entire page of separated limited UGC parts on my marketplace page for days AND how it took at least a month or less for one popular uploader to have their things removed and his account banned (and even THEN there’s still remnants floating around.)

It’s a disaster when you consider ROBLOX’s moderation to be flawed, which it is, and it’ll prove further to be a disaster if they can’t maintain quality control for UGC bundles.

Convinced you haven’t even opened the catalog.
UGC isn’t necessarily a disaster, but I think opening it up to more and more people is a horrible idea, especially with body parts and heads being uploadable now.

Let’s hope that UGC creators willn’t make the bundles catalog a trash… Like hats.

If we could only create animated faces, I would greatly participe. I want to try 3D modeling for recreating classic faces.

Not even a day in and we see Billy has finally made his way to Roblox as a bundle.

I don’t know if this is possible, but, in the avatar editor, I wish there was a way to sort between standalone heads that I’ve purchased, and heads that are part of a character bundle. If every single character from now on is going to include a dynamic head, then this section is going to get cluttered very fast, especially since UGC bundles can be free.

For the most part, I would only ever want to see standalone heads here, since those are inherently designed to be used with all kinds of avatars. Heads from a character bundle will only ever work with that specific character. I don’t care about them. I would never equip just the head.

Since dynamic heads are replacing classic faces/heads, this is essentially just grouping faces and heads together, and it’s quickly becoming a mess.

I also don’t want to have to guess if one of my heads came from a character or not. I just want to see my purchased heads.

ugc is a hot flaming mess, I admit it has so much potential, but opening it up to the entire community was a terrible idea. you’re allowed to have your opinion, but please respect mine too.

Rthro is just some body packages, not a new body type like R6 and R15. Rthro wasn’t really even an update, it’s just new bundles in a style no one likes unless they want to do glitches

After 4 years of supporting different packages across our games, we have had to make the unfortunate decision to completely disable them in our games.

Supporting UGC is great. But this is not it at the moment. The lack of moderation on the Marketplace and lack of tooling for developers to handle disruptive packages and UGC is outrageous.
The fact UGCs with really small hitboxes can be uploaded by anyone in the program and used by any player in all Roblox games is incredibly game-breaking in experiences where you have combat and other forms of hitbox related checks.


This should never have been approved.

The lack of control is extremely damaging to the platform, and already has been affecting experiences. At the end of the day it doesn’t seem like that matters too much anyway, considering the lack of response from Roblox on this and the constant push for this kind of Avatar despite all the feedback.
These avatar features are great, but they shouldn’t be forced the way they are right now.
