Same is happening to me, but I found a workaround by getting an extension called Roblox URL Launcher, then going to Roblox but putting the place id after placeID.
idk bout you guys but the error glitch is gone for me now. I have no idea why but now i can join games no problem. I didnt do anything except come on roblox today and check and BOOM FIXED!! you guys should try and see if its gone for u too

Can confirm, looks like roblox fixed the issue. Hopefully forever.
