Unable to Play Games

I tried joining a game during maintenance last night. I received a window saying:

Unable to connect.
ROBLOX cannot connect to the Internet.

I figured the issue was the maintenance so I thought nothing else of it and went to bed.
I try joining games this morning, and I get the same message. I tried reinstalling Roblox but during the installation, I still get this window popping up. I even deleted NPRoblox.plugin, Roblox.app, and RobloxStudio.app.

This is really frustrating, I can’t even resolve it by reinstalling.

Poor connection meaning Roblox can’t establish a connection stream?

I’m getting the same error. :frowning:
I can use studio and access roblox.com and everything, but I can’t play ROBLOX games.

(Note: Not just a mac thing, another user with Windows 10 has this too)

EDIT: Read this convo

Definitely not the case, I have 1Gbit/s Google Fiber.

What OS are you using?

OS X El Capitan 10.11

This is a compatibility issue specifically with 10.11; Apple now blocks HTTP requests by default. Ugh.

We’re working on a fix.

I’m on OS X El Capitan, no issues getting into games.

I think it depends on the specific version. I had an early beta and it was working fine; Apple must have enabled App Transport Security recently. I’m not sure if there is a way to disable it on the user side…

I’m glad it seems you guys found the problem. What do you think the ETA is, for a fix?

I’m not sure at this point. We’ll definitely fix it next week, but I don’t know if we can do a release earlier or not.

Considering I’m 9 days from launching a new game, I’m just grateful that I have Windows 8.1 Pro installed via Boot Camp.

Nonetheless, I’d still appreciate your best efforts to get this fixed as soon as possible (I want mah gestures back).

This caught us by surprise - we are testing on 10.11 for the last few months, but either the installation was not switched to the release when 10.11 was released or the issue does not happen on all installations. We do have a repro in-house but don’t have a fix yet so we’ll have to ship it next week.

If it helps here’s a link to the Studio build; you should be able to unpack it to Desktop and run:

For some reason I can’t access ROBLOX.com since yesterday. Could it perhaps be a DNS problem ? A lot of devs are having trouble at the moment, and other sites are also being buggy.

It seems to be a CDN problem for a lot of sites ? Amazon trouble, perhaps ?

Same! Can’t access the site at all. Seems to be the same for a lot of Dutch people.

We shipped an update to Player & Studio that based on our testing resolves issues with OSX 10.11. Just follow the install process again.

It works great!!! Thank you soooooo much!!

[spoiler][strike]Hold on, I’m having trouble uninstalling and reinstalling ROBLOX.

I wanted a fresh studio and roblox player, so I dragged both of them into the trash and deleted them. I also deleted that NPRoblox.plugin thing that the uninstall page said to. After that, I clicked to play a game, it asked me to reinstall ROBLOX, so I did, but when I double clicked the icon after downloading, I got no success message and an attempt to play a game only asked me to install again. Also to note, ROBLOX Studio was no where to be seen, which is why I’m assuming it doesn’t say installed successfully. :frowning:

EDIT: I completely deleted everything roblox related (I think) from my mac and tried to play a roblox game so it would give me the install prompt. Instead, I got a strange popup in the confidential tags below.[/strike]

Edit: I installed Studio via the link posted above, and then installed roblox, and it all worked!
