Unable to scale a truss, proceeds to disable Scale feature and further issues

I used this specific truss model by Roblox to be used on my overhead eletrification catenary present in my upcoming reconstruction of my game.

The issue not only applies to that specific game, but also wherever places that I’m permitted to work on. This is why I am also showing a footage by opening a new game, inserting the model and the main issue arise. The truss model is not only limited to the official Roblox one, but every truss on the Marketplace.

The main issue occurs when I tried to scale the truss and it unexpectedly multiple errors occurs which is visible through the output or developer console in game. However it doesn’t stop there. The Scale feature is disabled until I restarted Studio or joined in another place, which is frustrating. Disabling Scale features means I am unable to create the desired product with this problem. It applies to every parts in that place. The only function that are available are Select, Move, Rotate and Transform (but I don’t use this one). “Plugin handle already exists” appears in the output when I’m attempting to scale another part.

Weirdly, this issues isn’t apparent in the previous versions of Studio which I worked on before this happened yesterday when I first noticed it. I might be considered this version of Studio to be the issue in the first place, since the other ones don’t have this issue. Assuming the “plugin” part is probably interfering this may surprise me.

I don’t think I’ve found useful solution, let alone finding it in a sea of reports that don’t seem to match my issue.

I am not a professional Studio user and therefore I can’t really explain in technical details what causes this issue (otherwise I could have fixed the issue by myself), so someone with solutions may help me in this situation.

I have the same problem brother. The studio is lagging sometimes when I’m scalling the truss part

this issue is definitely on roblox end, i tried most trusses in toolbox, even the old and new uploaded trusses, it has the same issue.

Seems like the flag UnlimitedTrussLengthDM causes the issue here.

Also having this issue. Unable to scale the truss without it ruining the scaling tool and freezing up studio.

Just tried this as well on an old ‘shiny truss’. Studio didn’t freeze or crash on me and I could move the truss around, but the drag handles are now frozen where they were and can’t be used for anything else. I get ‘plugin handle already exists’ in the output if I try to drag-scale anything.

This seems more of a bug, I have doubts it’s true, but I believe that the Truss cannot be scaled in that way.

You’re allowed to extend the Truss in any direction, but once one of the directions is extended, you can’t extend the other.
Not sure if this will entirely fix the problem with the freezing up studio as mentioned by @ItsNathanity but I believe using a plugin for moving and resizing tools will work.

Usually, things that you can do can crash your studio and your team creates active users.
Funny fact, by setting up a particle with the Rate to “nan” (0 divided by 0 using console game.workspace.part.particleemitter.rate = 0/0) it will crash your friend and you from the studio.
The particle will break, but once you load it back into the studio, it will be disabled in your view as obviously it broke. [not responsible lol]

Yeah. The fact that trusses are also use for gameplay and/or aesthetic purposes in multiple game genres throughout the platform including obbies may be impacted because of the bug.

Studio doesn’t freeze for me whenever I try to replicate the issue and that’s the good thing. However, restarting the client is required to me to reuse it in a proper manner.

Not just Truss parts, the same thing in “Toolbox” happens when I try to select a specific time frame in the music area inside of “Audio”.
It completely removes the toolbox and I need to reopen the entire studio

“… I believe using a plugin for moving and resizing tools will work”

I can grant this as a temporarily solution for now. Until Roblox fix their end, we might have to stick with using Buliding Tools by F3X for now to scale trusses and any problematic assets.

Update Studio client to the recent one and you should be fine now. It’s officially fixed.
