I was trying to upgrade to Premium 1000 / 2200 to upload a UGC item, and I mistakenly went to my subscriptions and cancelled it thinking this would then allow me to choose another plan, but instead it seems like cancelling the renewal has meant I’m not able to upgrade my plan until the current plan is cancelled (as in, it has reached the renewal date, it is not possible to cancel on the spot)
Firstly there should be an upsell on the page in your account that you configure your subscription, this just seems like a general oversight on Roblox’s part to not put a call to action there, but secondly, of course you should be able to upgrade even if the renewal is cancelled. If the issue is that the billing agreement has stopped, credit it against the next membership, or refund that membership when the user upgrades. This is just causing Roblox to miss out on revenue and pushing a user to stop being a premium subscriber.
Note that I’m not able to list my UGC item for sale until the 19th now - a barrier I don’t really agree with anyway, at least make it Premium or some metric you must’ve reached on the developer side to be able to do it.
I’m stuck in this state. I can’t cancel the plan on the spot, I am forced to wait until the renewal date to upgrade, so I’m unable to sell UGC or publish UGC to a group until then, and if the tax is still higher for non-premium users I will lose out on game revenue in the time between it expiring and me subscribing to a new plan.
The exact same thing occurred to me today with a UGC I have been working on for a few months now. I created all the preparations including the group, model, textures and have been subscribed to roblox premium 4.99$ version for a really long time now. I was all good uploading everything until I met the page that said I need to be the other two higher versions of Premium, this in itself is not a problem, it is very understandable. The issue itself is that I cannot take my current subscription up to a higher level because of the issue above. Now I must wait for 2 weeks just to be able to upload the UGC which I thought I could have released today. Overall this makes my user experience very frustrating and I would love to see Roblox implement a feature to be able to upgrade your premium level. Unfortunately I also canceled my subscription thinking I would be able to just buy the higher-level one.
