Reproduction Steps

This feature has been in studio for eight years now and has magically disappeared overnight.

I am referring to the “image upload” feature of the properties window.
I will include some images below that will show you what I am talking about if you are unaware:

Expected Behavior

This would previously show up whenever you select a property which supported a link to an image asset. It would bring up a pane where you can select an image previously uploaded into studio or allow you to upload right from the properties window.

Actual Behavior

Instead of this pane showing up, now you are just expected to input a string of the asset ID (and can no longer upload directly into the properties window).

This is quite an issue as workflows are heavily slowed for developers who are uploading many textures into studio, and just interrupts everyone’s workflow in general. It would be nice if this could be fixed with some sort of speed.

Workaround

You can upload your image to the website and copy paste the asset id into the properties window after uploading there.

EDIT:
Looks like all methods of uploading images or assets into studio are not working (including asset manager). I’ve renamed this post accordingly.

Have you published your game to roblox?

I had this issue twice last night, and my workaround was just reopening the place.

I also have this issue. However, I am not even able to upload anything into the asset manager on studio.

With the asset manager, the “Bulk Import” button doesn’t work and neither does right-clicking a folder and clicking upload.

This happens more often in larger places and seems to be tied in with this error message once you load into a place:

Unfortunately my game is hefty to say the least, so just rejoining until it works isn’t worth the time. (it happens basically 100% of the time anyway)
It’s starting to get frustrating to have to individually upload assets to the website rather than just bulk importing them in studio.

There is another post about this issue. Roblox responded today, Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
