Unable to upload "distorted audio"

I had tried uploading this song on an alt account to check if it was allowed.

It appears the auto-moderation blocked the audio from being uploaded for being “distorted”, although the song itself is perfectly safe.
Since I uploaded it on an alt account, I had tried uploading the audio on my main, and it just says “file previously blocked”.

So I’m wondering how would I ask the mods for a re-evaluation of the audio file if it hasn’t been uploaded on my main account, would I just refer to the alt account I uploaded the audio on? And would the audio then be able to be uploaded back on my main account once re-evaluated on my alt?

Hi, I understand your frustration that nobody is replying. Ill help for this. Firstly, distorted audios are not allowed to be uploaded on Roblox as they feel that it would destroy people’s ears.

This is quoted from Roblox:

Disruptive Audio
We don’t allow audio that disrupts other users’ experience, including audio that contains:

  • Background noise that makes the intended audio unintelligible
  • Excessive loudness, screaming, or high-pitched noises that disrupts others’ experience

You may read more here!

0:50 timestamp is what would possibly trigger roblox moderation system, but I’m not entirely sure there. I checked some other parts of the song and I see no other suspicions why would moderation deny it.

could you upload an undistorted version and use roblox’s built-in distortion effect on it?

its also funny that setting the distortion over 0.9 makes the audio sound extremely “disruptive” as is against their policy hah

To reupload a blocked file without editing it as such, you need to modify the md5. Usually the best way to do this is actually editing it, in this case opening it up in audacity and cutting off the last fraction of a second will do the trick.

As vvv said however, there is a rather bassy part which would definitely be auto flagged by the bots. I suggest using something like audacity to just compress it down or reduce the volume on it, since you can just raise the volume back up in game anyway.

So my appeal was denied but I reuploaded the song and now for whatever reason, it got approved?

Also, what the hell? I’m not convinced that real human beings actually read appeals, either that or moderation is run by literal mouth breathers.

The roblox moderation system is clearly becoming aggressive, especially as of recently. I was just warned for the same reason of disruptive audio, due to a voice actor talking over radio static. Apparently small white noise is enough to trigger it. Also something if no one has noticed it, Roblox does not bother manually moderating audio’s you create, they just use the system. If you have a violation against audio reasons, it seems you require manual moderation every time now.
