What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I would like to upload an .ogg audio file, which is one of the two accepted audio formats (the other being .mp3).
What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
When trying to upload a .ogg file, the Creator Dashboard states that it is “Wrong Format.”, even though it is a .ogg file. This is also poor grammar, and “Format” should not have a capitalised F.
While I have recently switched to a firefox-based browser, and am no longer able to upload .ogg files through it, chromium-based browsers just have the upload button greyed out as opposed to the “Wrong Format.” red text. What’s going on?
I first noticed this issue on the 24/01/2024, however I have found posts from other users whom have had the issue since December of last year or earlier. This issue occurs 100% of the time, and previously I had no issue uploading .ogg files.
All files I am trying to upload are within the time and file size constraints.
I would appreciate Roblox giving developers the ability to upload more files per month due to the backlog this issue has likely caused many.
Firefox had minor html5 problems which affected various audio files for years now. I have read about some MIME types interfering with the way Firefox transmits .ogg files. The format ends up being ”text/plain“ instead of the correct format for .ogg files.
I‘m not exactly sure if Roblox can fix this issue but I have seen solutions to this issue before.
This issue still persists on chromium though, neither allow .ogg files to be uploaded, and if anything chrome’s issue is worse as it doesn’t even give you an error message, just a greyed out upload button.
yup, I’ve also seen other people complaining about the issue from a couple of months ago, which is quite frustrating that a bug of this magnitude has just been ignored for so long.
