I’ve been working on this game for almost a year, and basically it’s a tower defense game, but you can interact with buildings and enemies. (Or Wave defense game where you can build your own base)
Your goal is to protect the Crystal as long as you can from enemies. Of course, enemies can destroy your base.
At the end of each wave, you can buy weapons at the store.
Press Q to switch between Build mode and Battle mode :
In battle mode, you can check the info of your weapon, and cannot interact with buildings to prevent players from getting distracted while using weapons.
This is a demo version, so there are still tons of content to add and bugs to fix.
@Ryneso That is the best Tower Defense game Ever, the graphics are so beautiful, the controls are easy,
It’s addictive and So Fun! I really like that game. If you advertise and Sponsor it, it will become very Popular! Remember to update that game actively.
Wow, this is a really impressive game, however, I do have some constructive criticism for you:
When I joined the game it was in the middle of a wave and I was confused about when/where/how to get weapons. My suggestion for how to combat this would be to give the player a basic sword from the start.
Although I was initially overwhelmed by the UI and gameplay, I wouldn’t worry about initially overwhelming the player because the UI is actually fairly basic and you quickly figure it out. Maybe you could put change the text on the Build and Battle buttons to be “Build (q)” and “Battle (q)” so that the players know the shortcut, but this is honestly your decision because hotkeys are not mandatory to any game.
The map is beautiful and is the perfect mix of simple yet intricate when you examine the surroundings. It’s not distracting from the gameplay, but the bountiful minute details really contribute to the feel of the game. I really liked the miners in the wall. Just make sure future improvements continue to carry forward this style.
When I joined there was already a big base built up. I think a good addition would be to make progressively harder waves until you reach an extremely difficult climax on a final wave (you would have to mark out waves). Then the map would change and the map would reset and the playing field would be back to normal. This means that players can experience the early game much more often and there would be clearly defined games rather than just infinite waves. This would also allow you to make new maps and allow players to experience them more often. Of course, you would have to add in an overarching progression system to accommodate people playing in the long term. Perhaps skins for certain buildings, weapons, or exclusive weapons as you continue to play.
I hope this helped, I love your game and it has a lot of potential which is why I’m giving honest feedback. If you want me to clarify any of my suggestions or be a long term tester then I’d be happy to do so. I do think defined games of 50 or so waves rather than infinite waves would help the game a lot and make the gameplay vary more and more interesting. You have the creative freedom for the game though so take all of this advice at your own discretion. Your game should always feel like your game.
Your games concept is not new, I played for about 5 minutes and I had 0 idea of what was going on. I didn’t know how to battle so I let the cannons and bows do it for me… The music was like a fever dream and even though I see the money in the top left in the screenshots, It was not located on my screen. The cannons were too slow and didnt hit any enemies and were ineffective. I had just loaded in as I was attacked by enemies. Games design is pretty cool, veryy open. It’s like a combination between an NPC based battle royale and capture the flag. Your game is good but can be improved. Add a tutorial + make the game more fun as it wasnt really fun because I couldnt figure out the game and I could only watch as my weapons attacked the enemies. Try recruit beta testers & i wish the best for your game
I really like the game and I think it is really unique compared to other tower defense games. However, there are still things to improve on and some suggestions:
When I joined, I was confused on what was happening and had no idea what to do, maybe you could create a beginners tutorial for new players.
I think you should make it so when you join the game, you spawn in a lobby and you can create matches (similarly to games like dungeon quest) and people can join it, so that would prevent people from joining while the match is in-progress and being overwhelmed by all the monsters as soon as they join.
When I joined the game, my fps was extremely low (5 - 20 fps). I think you should try to make the game more friendly to lower-end PCs like mine.
When I played the game, it took me a minute to find where the coins were located. I think you should move it somewhere else where it would be more visible to people.
I’ve realised that all the explosions cause so much lag, perhaps an option to turn them off?
Overall, I think it is a really fun and addicting game. I could definitely see this game in the future front-page with enough advertisement.
You are right. Many of the beginners seemed to be confused when they joined the game for the first time. I really should add tutorial for the beginners just like what you said. Thanks for the feedback
There is currently no lobby or any other maps since this is just a demo, and you are right I should’ve added tips for beginners so they don’t get confused on what to do. Thanks for the feedback
Really nice game, I agree that a tutorial would be helpful. I don’t think you need a full interactive tutorial, but before playing I would have wanted to see a few things:
Click one of the towers then click on the map to place it
Click on an existing tower to upgrade it; sometimes upgrades are better than new towers
What are the pros / cons to different towers
Getting thrown straight into gameplay, I felt like I needed to just start throwing towers everywhere and didn’t have time to read their stats or think about what different towers do. The tutorial could be as simple as a series of pictures showing the above info.
Thanks, I felt really bad whenever I saw beginners getting confused on what to do or what to place and just leaving, I’m definitely adding those into tutorial. Thanks for the feedback
