Universe not accepting a start place

Someone had issues that he wasn’t capable to set a start place on a universe anymore after changing the universe’s name, so after reproducing the steps I can definitely conclude things are not going as they should be.

The start place gets moved to the other places, and no place can be set as start place anymore. Instead, an error pops up, rendering the whole universe to be useless. This can be a serious problem regarding datastore and dev products. I lost 2 places (for now) because of this.

The error:

EDIT: Seems to be the case when the start place of the universe alters. This also happens when the name of the universe is being altered.

Dang you – beat me to it by a minute. Here’s that post just for clarification / reference:
Here’s a picture of the error that is displayed when trying to set a start place:

Repro Steps:

 1. Remove a place from a universe
 2. Try to set the start place of a different, empty universe with that place
 3. Error appears

Upon further testing it appears you just can’t set start places. I had a universe that had been empty for a while, and a place that hadn’t been in a universe for a while, and when I try to set the start place of that empty universe with that place that hadn’t been in a universe recently, I still got the error.
Yeah, I’ve run into this problem before.

I was originally going to report it back when I first ran into this issue in august last year, not sure why I never did.

I figured out the problem occurs if you’re trying to replace the start place of the universe, so I suggest the current work-around is to not do anything with the start place of the game.

Clicking on active for the broken universe start place of “ROBLOXMessedUpMyUniverses” shows the “needs to be marked as a start place to be active” message you’re getting.

I have four broken places that I can’t do anything with due to this bad programming.

How exactly could I get this place active again with the broken system?

Could someone from the staff possibly give me an ETA as to when this will be fixed? So far I’ve lost out on over 40k robux profit and failed to break even on the 6 ads I ran

EDIT: is the staff not going to be on today? qq.

I forwarded this thread to the client team - they are looking into it.

Please fix this asap, this is a massive bug. I can’t release any games now because they can’t be set as start places :frowning:

I should also mention that my game was randomly removed from being the start place too, without me doing anything

any word on when this might be fixed? in around an hour and a half I wont have internet for a week or two so it’d be nice if it got fixed by then.

Hi everyone - I’m terribly sorry about the bug, I was rushing to fix an exploit : (

This will be fixed with tomorrow’s release.

Possible ETA? In about ten minutes I won’t have internet access for a day or two. (Not that I expect it to be released by then)
