Unknown/Blank Player in Studio Testing

Hello everyone, I have been having some issues whilst testing on a baseplate in Roblox Studio.

Every time i join the testing place the player appears as either “unknown” or “unknown+DN”, with a blank character as the player’s character.

This error appears in the output, I have no scripts that check if a player is in a group nor free models.

As well as this, looking into the player properties the UserId is 0 and the character appearance is also 0, along with account age being 0.

Any fixes?

After some testing ive narrowed down some possible solutions and causes to the problem.

The issue seems to stem from either poor connection to Roblox’s servers or poor internet connection. Sometimes it can be easily solved by logging in or logging out, if this doesnt work try restarting your device. If worst comes to worst uninstall studio completely and reinstall it.

Try restarting your studio and clear its cache.
It shouldn’t happen, and if anything it is very rare to occur.

How do I clear the cache on roblox studio?

  1. Press Win + R and type %Temp%\ Roblox and hit enter.
  2. Press Ctrl + A and delete everything in the folder.

Holy crap I just found a huge security flaw in roblox studio if you get this glitch to occur you can log into any account with any password

I just tried to log into my account with two different passwords and it worked both times.

You shouldn’t abuse it even if it’s possible, I have seen this type of bug, so I wouldn’t know.

yes- it’s been a year, but i got the same problem, my solution is just log out and log back in, it works for me.
