Unneccesary advice on opening roblox for first time

This isn’t really a bug as such, just not sure where to put it.

So I’m sure you all remember that chrome update a while back which meant that you have to tick this box and then click open roblox so that you don’t keep getting this box. I think a lot of people; including myself, as well as new members quite often tick the box and accidentally click dont open.

You’ll see when I do this pressing play doesn’t work, and there is a help button below

In that article it says

If you accidentally checked “Remember my choice for all links of this type” and clicked the Do Nothing button, Chrome will remember your choice and will not prompt you again. This will make Roblox unplayable. To fix this, close all your open Chrome browsers, uninstall Roblox, then reinstall following the above steps. If this does not work, you may need to reinstall your Chrome browser.

I found out that this is wrong after trying to figure it out myself. I realised that what I did to make this dialog appear again was clear my history. On chrome clearing your history also clears your cookies. Therefore if someone only just ticked that box by accident, they can clear the past hours history (and cookies) and this makes the dialog box come up again. I’ve tried this multiple times and it works. Having to close chrome, uninstall roblox and then going through the entire installation process again seems like a bit of overkill.

And I’m pretty sure this happens quite a lot.

I’m pretty sure Roblox can’t fix this since it’s a chrome security feature to stop websites from spamming you asking to open some application

This is an update request for the help page displayed when that happens. Not a request to remove that chrome feature.

This is a mistake I would have made when I was younger and would have certainly barred my entry to Roblox if I couldn’t find the fix right away. It’s worth an update imo.

If you read his post, he’s talking about updating the information on the Help page since it is currently unnecessarily difficult.

Not to be rude but this is literally the first paragraph, it’s pretty evident from that that I’m not saying roblox can do something about the chrome feature.

(I know it’s technically the 2nd paragraph after the “introductory” sentence)
