Developer Spotlight: Meet CRRAANNNEEEEEEE

The first-ever unofficial spotlight focuses on a developer who makes things that aren’t very common to find on the Roblox site.

That developer is @CRRAANNNEEEEEEE! CRRAANNNEEEEEEE is a developer who makes cranes!

I had an opportunity to talk to CRRAANNNEEEEEEE and get some insight behind this odd creation theme, as well as getting a look into crane’s other projects as a Roblox developer. The very first project crane showed me was a GIANT map with almost 92,000 bricks!
This build he showed me was one of the most incredible builds I’ve ever seen. Sure it had a bit of lag, but it was definitely worth it!

Without further ado, let’s see what CRRAANNNEEEEEEE had to say!

How did you discover the Roblox platform?

While eating lunch in 6th grade, I overheard some guys talking about it. I looked it up later that night and ended up joining.

What is the story being the liking of cranes?

Many years ago, long before Roblox, when I was only 7 years old. My parents told me I needed a hobby. Since I already liked construction equipment, I narrowed it down to the coolest one. The crane, and the rest is history.

How long does one crane usually take you to create?

It really depends on how motivated I am to make it, I’ve had some take 3 days and others that were started in 2015 that still aren’t finished. So to average it out I’d say 6-12 months, on average.

In the past, many developers have said that Roblox has had profound impacts on their lives - has it had any impact on yours?

Oh yes very much so, for years I was doing things without any sort of reward. But once I used the Devex program for the first time, I was able to buy myself a car, pay off all my bills. I’ve met a lot of great people, and have learned so many things from this site.

If you had any advice for new developers, what would it be?

Never give up, no matter how hard you think it is, don’t give up, you don’t become a good developer overnight, if you just keep trying, eventually you will teach yourself to be good.
