Unsure If I Should Keep Working On Game [Feedback]

Hey so im unsure if i should continue working on this game or not, recently it has brought attention to me because of a premium payout i got and its sparked my interest in potentially developing the game again however im unsure if i should.

Please give feedback on my game which is an obby and be harsh where needed. Thanks in advance.

First of all, its not about the games quality or idea, its about why you are making it, and if you even have the passion.

If a premium payout only sparked your interest into the game, you shouldn’t continue developing it, unless you actually have a passion for the game.

Unless there’s seriously a lot of good reviews from players, after all, some people likes to make community ideas, it’s reasonable.

The reason the premium payout sparked my interest is because im currently interested in the premium payout algorithm/how it calculated. Im not interested in gaining from the robux side of it but does it spark my interest? Sure because i know some robux along the way will help in long term projects however thats not the main reason it sparked my interest. The main and majority reason it sparked my interest is because it proves this game can be compatible for premium players with a potential reasonable playtime as the overall average playtime was between 4-6 Minutes which means it can potentially help me with finding how the premium payout works.

Well if your trying to earn a few hundred of Robux from this obby it is possible however as the way it is it isn’t going to be earning you thousands of Roubx.

I’ll give you a tip with obbys make them easy, I died like 15 times on level 5 most people would quit straight away. Young kids have a short attention span if they are bored they’ll quite straight away.

Most people want to seem better than other people on the game, I’d recommend a leader board system of some sort of who has gotten to the highest level etc.

The game has some potential to get some good premium payouts but nothing massive, I doubt people will buy the skip a level unless they have some real desire to get to the higher levels, the only way I can see them buying the skip a level is if they are competing with other people. Therefore if you want some Robux from this there needs to be some changes to the game.

However if you keep at it this could be a nice little earner.

PS: Wonder why tower of hell is doing so well? Magpie off that game, everyone is competing with each other and trying to get to the top first, they can give players boosts and punish them. If your trying to make money off your game try look at some of tower of hells mechanics and implement them into your game.

Great start to the game keep it up!

But does he even have the passion to make it?

Also, you make it seem like even though if he had a passion or not, then he should still work on it only because of the reviews.

This is good so far but, do you actually have a passion for the game your developing?

Did you even want to build this game to begin with?

I like this but, you kinda make it seem like he should just take things from tower of hell instead of making mechanics inspired by toh.

Primarily because of you saying "look at some of TOH’s mechanics and implement them into your game

At least tell the dude to make it original, and actually ask if he has a passion for the game.

I enjoy developing this game however i stopped developing it as it was generally made for me to work on some scripting skills (i.e market place service) and i for some reason never came back to it after a small break i had from developing.

Do you, yourself think that you should work on the game, and why?

Stop disrespecting other peoples comments of people helping him with his game.
We are helping him your just asking useless questions.
I’m not here to think up a whole game idea for him, I’m giving him games similar to his and saying why they get so many visits. Therefore he can use these ideas to help him improve his game.

How is it disrespecting?

Im not spreading toxicity, Im just trying to explain how your feedback won’t really answer the Question.

Look at the title, your response is more so telling him to continue the game if you wanna make more income.

Is it not already obvious that all of this is constructive criticism?

Did I ever call your reply “trash” or “Stupid”? No, so I don’t get why your acting like Im trashing on all of your comments, when im just trying to explain to you, why this comment may not fully help the author of the topic.

Once again, look at the topic name.

The author is unsure if they should work on the game, I recommended that they should first ask themselves if they have a passion for the actual game, and if their not just making it for money, and if they are even happy making it.

Your comment only really told the author how to make a bootleg tower of hell, while directly telling him to take aspects out of that game and put it into his.

Neither of us have played the game but, your comment isn’t really helping here when your only considering the fact if his game is making revenue or not, hence you saying

You kinda are telling him, if the game’s making no income, don’t develop on it. You don’t know if he has a passion for the game, and wants to make it big, or if it was for other reasons.

The thing is, their’s a difference from insperation and just grabbing things from other games.
Once again from what you said

You never even told him to find inspiration or make something a bit similar to TOH, but you told him to just strait up implement mechanics from tower of hell into your game.

Im really not trying to start an argument here but, rather I’m just saying that your post may not be helping the author of the topic much. Your response isn’t bad, but you should look back at what you wrote, and compare it to the topic itself.

p.s, this comment alone tells me that your clearly disrespecting my recommendations here. **As you legit just trashed on my opinion by saying “your just asking useless questions”.

TL;DR

Not trying to start arguments or trash on others post, just attempting to help the author find out if they should work on their game and not ask them useless questions, I only replied to your post because I was just trying to tell you how this may not really help the author, and how you can improve off of that.

Don’t take constructive criticism personal.

Mate did you spend an hour on that reply lol.

He said the game caught his interest because of a premium pay out, I’m telling him how to earn a bit of robux.

Also I assumed your new to Roblox which you are but everyone copies cool game ideas. An example is pets they are in most games at this point. Also there is so many games on Roblox its nearly impossible to find anything unique these days especially obbys.

But would this answer his question on if he should keep working on the game?

Saying someone’s new to roblox based off their account age won’t really tell you how long they’ve truly been on the platform, i’ve been playing roblox since late 2016 with many other accounts.

I know a lot of trends and marketing tactics that people use but, telling developers who are possibly trying to make a good, original, and freshly new game on Roblox to just copy cool game ideas isn’t helping.

This is exactly why you develop something cald an idea.

If the times between the post have a 9 minute difference, its obvious I didn’t spend an hour on that.

Why get so fed up over a comment anyway lol? Thats extremely childish

Bro that’s a 500 word reply, that’s a whole essay.

He said “Please give feedback on my game which is an obby and be harsh where needed. Thanks in advance.”

Which I did.

The guy is making a simple obby I doubt he will be able to copy Adopt me lol. Its highly unlikely that someone that has been on Roblox for 1-2 years will be able to make unique game mechanics that can make them stand out.

I am simply giving a new developer directions and things that he can actually implement into his game to give him a bit of robux, I’m sure that’s his main aim for the game.

To get back on topic,

If this game is helpful to you, in that case, you should keep working on it.

Just don’t get to cash grabby though, and try to find inspiration from other games and more ways for you to make a game that can help you with your goal.

For those who only knows how to develop games and needs to put food on the table, it is the best for them to follow trends and create community demands to increase the chance of success meaning they will make a living. Following passion is sometimes a privilege.

I liked playing it, it was fun and challenging. But I agree with the other commentors that it depends on how you feel about it, and whether or not you like making it.

It’s been a year since anyone’s commented on this topic, I think the developer may have found a solution or idea that they can use on there problem.

Please don’t comment on year old post.
