[Update] Changes to Asset Privacy for Audio

Almost 11 months passed.
Roblox hasn’t give any changes/informations about publishing audios.

If publishing audios would be available I’d publish musics from old games (mostly unknown ones).
But now, it’s disappointing that u cannot do anything with it.

Roblox also patched group audios some time ago and it’s unable to hear musics from groups…

Hello,

Is the max uploads always 100, per period?

Or can that be increased somehow?

Thanks

Actually for some users the maximum upload limit is 10 audio’s per 30 days.

Which is me.

I think it can. Some people have a limit of 2000 audios per month.

If you verify phone and email you get 100 audio uploads a day, get ID verified and I believe it becomes 1000.

I think the limit is still 100 a month if you’re both phone and ID verified since the 100 limit was originally for the ID verified only.

I can confirm since I have phone verified and ID verified.

Eleven freaking months of this. Still no word on when they’ll open the audio catalog and stop having it be closed. I don’t think the amount of Roblox owned audio has grown much in the past few months either. Ever since the Innovation Awards I personally feel like this platform has become a ghost town (not to mention some of us couldn’t see user ads for a while even if we were over 13).

It appears that the old develop page is gone and it redirect Us to the creator dashboard.

However, it’s still unable to publish audios…

Rest In Peace old develop page, I liked it.

Ironically the transition still hasn’t hit my account yet.

Well, on PC after clicking on create tab, it redirects me on new develop page.

However on mobile (in PC view) it shows me old develop page.
Maybe it depends on browser. (on mobile)

Any sound or music less than 6 sec before 22 march 2022 it can be public.

Well they rolled back that controversial Team Create default beta, but we still have no update regarding this.

In addition to being able to change audio back to public, I think there should also be a way to blanket grant permission to every experience that the uploader of that audio created.

by now it would’ve been great if the configure page actually worked to allow access of audios to certain universes!

It’s intended behavior. You can, of course, go into team create.

Alright, come on Roblox, it’s been almost a year since this mess started (dubbed by many the worst change in platform history); we seriously need an update regarding when audio management can return to normal (or at least a “new normal” with the innovative privacy system plus being able to share legitimate / authentic sound assets with the rest of the community again without off-platform methods ) and we need to be assured you’ll take extra steps to prevent your own negligence from forcing you to once again make a significantly disruptive change in 13 days or less (and with very little options).

BitFirst is no longer a part of the Roblox company and Kairomatic is from another department (I know that they are from DevRel, but it seems that they did not contribute to this announcement as well as the product).

This change may harm us, but on the side, it is good in the aspects of preventing creators to upload consistently bypassed/copyrighted audios that are against the ToU (Terms of Use) without a license. Moreover, I believe that with many other updates coming in and out from #updates:announcements, this can lead to points where one appears and minutes later, disappears until someone replies… Creating a mess overall.

Although, everything being said above is just my perspective and I believe we should wait for those that worked on the update to respond ASAP for proper clarifications.

This is a fair point that I didn’t consider in my initial post. Just wish they would clarify literally anything related to this change given that we are a month away from the anniversary of the initial update and it still is not possible to share audios to experiences that you do not own.
