It would be nice to see a new way players can spend.
From my own experience, I rarely buy gamepasses because I know its unlikely I will return much to the game.
If, however, it was possible to rent a gamepass for a day/week that would be appealing to a large amount of potential customers.
It would also be nice to award gamepasses- as a trial for your audience, like Amazon Prime does (1 free week- if you like it you buy it)
These ideas would help boost revenue for devs- ultimately ROBLOX too.
Some time ago, not sure. But all I remember is that they want to get rid of gamepasses in favor of developer products.
Still, thatâs only what I remember, it doesnât necessarly have to be a fact.
I donât necessarily disagree with you, but Roblox is not an engine, it is a platform. While itâs nice for us more skilled devs to have the ability to fine-tune control things with dev products, most people donât want to, or canât script the required DataStore and DevProduct, and time management and receipts required to pull off a rental.
For the reason of Roblox being friendly to new devs, I think this should be a thing. I would personally not use it now, but the me of four years ago would have.
I donât think gamepass rentals should be a thing, but I do not want to see gamepasses removed either. Not to mention ROBLOX already implemented a gear rental system and then removed it some indeterminate amount of time later. No, I donât see rentals making a comeback any time soon. The feature is way too niche.
Going off topic a bit, but Iâd personally think itâd be cool if we merged gamepasses with dev products: as in, you could choose some dev products to highlight and sell from the website game page.
I sell gamepasses for several thousand robux each.
They are the best way to securly sell highvalued ingame assets.
No chance of loosing data, great way to start selling ingame items for robux!
May they never be removedâŚ
I agree that gamepasses shouldnât be removed completely⌠Scripting DataStores and devproducts and checking receipts and everything can get pretty confusing for new developers (IMO). You donât have the risk of losing stuff either with gamepasses
They should revamp gamepasses with âproductsâ and the developers can check off options like ârecurring paymentâ or âuser can buy multiple timesâ. The stuff would save onto the user like a gamepass would but with all the data included like times bought etc. Also they wouldnât be able to be removed from the user like gamepasses are now. Would allow a lot of un-script savy developers to make some profits.
