Update to Roblox Groups

The thing is now bots are no longer allowed to post in the group walls, that’s the most best update ever, thanks Roblox!

I find it important to note that a feature is not really a Roblox feature, or generally available to us; if it requires us to adopt another platform we do not want to.

I’d like to see Roblox making itself available to integrate with our places of preference to communicate with our communities, instead of platform-locking us.

Also, I didn’t include this in my first message, but what about users who are under 13 and own groups? If I am correct, they can’t even view their own group walls, meaning that they can’t even use the group that they paid for to its full potential.

Good point, but I would like to know the amount of people under the age of 13 who have a useful, positively impacting group or is a developer.

Same experience too! My 265k+ group has been on manual approval since 2017 and moderating my wall has been a breeze. I RARELY come across scams or rule-breaking content on my group. The group wall is a vital part of the way my group functions and operates. We host monthly competitions open for all ages. This new update will make it either significantly harder or outright impossible for those 12 or under to participate, which is a true shame (since a large portion of the Ro-Gymnastics community are tweens).

The bots set the age over 13???

Will 13- be locked from their own group walls?
This can make it harder for 13- people to moderate their own groups, which will result in more scams (or whatever) in those groups

I have a feeling that their groups will just be deleted, or they will have access to post in their groups only. Im not sure, however those options are the only sustainable way of going forward.

The first option would be very evil.
13- hardly get any robux, so 100 is a lot to them, plus all their hard work on games under the group would be gone.

But the second option is the best.
Roblox should have this in mind.

Unfortunately I dont think there is anyone under the age of 13, with an account under the age of 13 that has created a game that positively impacts roblox. The workers at roblox probably took this into account when annnouncing this new feature

Let’s say someone was 12 and was learning to code!
For one year, their group could be hell itself.

Hopefully Roblox figures out the best solution

if they have no way of viewing the group wall as a leader they could just disable the wall for lower ranks

Well, that’s a good point… Maybe, roblox shouldn’t worry about this after all.
Oh, oh, but they should message them! Just to warn them, y’know. Not all 13- view DevForum

yeah they should definitely release a message regarding this

My issue is that this update lacks the ONE thing we need and that’s like bans from groups so that we don’t have so many problems with people joining we don’t want there.

not sure, they can also bypass the chat filter i think.

Can we decouple group wall posting from the chat privacy setting? I use this setting to turn the chat off as I never use it, and it means people wont try chatting with me by accident.

You can assign people to a role that doesn’t allow them to do anything, it’s the same as banning

What if they just…

Rejoined? Perhaps

Oh wait, you go back to the first role when you rejoin. Sorry, my bad
