yep I agree it would be helpfull to have the reassurance that I did it right
I also sent an application a few months after ugc came out permanently but I used rblx. instead of rbxm so I messed up lol and didnt get an email
yeh it kinda sucks but i guess we have to deal with it lol they should add a suggestion forum i dont know if there is one if so i would def give this a suggestion
yeah like someone to post a ugc for me that i made , the person posts on teir accunt and i could get a really small % i dont mind as long as it says on the description it was made by me i would to have something that i made on the avatar shop
i made my request in september and i got a reply 2 weeks ago and im still waiting to get the access to upload x_x
Yes that is the limit for UGC. You can import models that don’t conform with UGC specifications fine since you can also share it on the marketplace as a mesh. Even then while 4k may be small for some projects if you keep statistics on in Blender and not have excessive faces then you should be fine. I do agree that the limit should be upped though since torus’s, lots of tiny details or lots of circles can cause you to go over the limit pretty easily. Another thing to look out for is over detailed spheres. I find most of the time the default amount of faces is too much for what I’m needing. I often find that 22 segments and 12 rings is more than enough for most projects.
If I’m 14 will they not accept me?
I’m pretty sure if your 13+ they will accept you, but it takes time!
There is nothing wrong, you just have to wait now till they respond to you via Guilded or as an Email. For me it took nearly 1 and half week, anyways congratulations ^^
I did indeed get a response and I’m now in the UGC server.
does it matter if the file showing the creation process of ur item was above 50MB because mine was 70MB but it was zipped and it let me submit it
Nope, all it matters that you turned yo accessories into a rblx file and uploaded it into the application. MBs don’t matter
I also took a survey last month or 2 months ago.
Out of curiosity, do you have any sources that can confirm the 4k triangle limit but more specifically, the scrapped limit on vertex count? I’ve been limiting my models to 1.2K vertices. If I can increase that, it would help my models so much.
If you have any sources on the textures being 1024 x 1024 as well, I’d greatly appreciate that too!
Yo… Maybe you should reapply… Because I think waiting that long deserves a reapply
I work for some UGC creators or groups and they told me to make sure that the model is under 4k tris and 1024 x 1024 for the textures, you can ask to some creators in the program if you want!
The model part is true but the texture size isn’t. Your texture can BE UP TO 1024x1024, meaning that is the max size your texture can be. Even though the max is 1024x1024 I STRONGLY SUGGEST any UGC creators or modelers to use 256x256. R6 compresses the texture and the compression on 256x256 is way better than 1024x1024. The only way you would see the difference in quality is if you’re in R15 since there is no texture compression in R15.
Oh but isn’t 256 is a bit too low to draw smooth details on ?
Make the details in 1024 and then reduce the texture size to 256.
Texture compression of 1024 is much better then how is used to be with 512 compression. Plus, most games utilize R15. Doesn’t seem like every experience that restricts players to R6 results in accessory compression either.
I would suggest not restricting yourself to 256, but if you can load all your details onto smaller maps and feel satisfied, all the more power to you.
(EDIT: The back accessory above is using a 1024 texture map in an R6 game)
I tried applying but input the wrong date of birth does anyone know if that’s a miss case and I can submit it again, my question is how many times can I even apply like is there a limit
