THIS should only apply to trades that have a 50%+ rap/value difference instead of every trade. That would be an optimal solution.
I think holding periods are a great idea since a lot of scamming can be stopped, but they should only last for a few hours at maximum tbh.
Because having them last for an entire week is kinda overdoing it.
You do need to do 2FA to trade most of the time I believe he just means the system should be a setting itself locked behind 2FA for people who are really worried about security even though it would be useless still.

A non trader would presume user A wants item X, User B sells item X to user A. After 2 days, dust settles. Everyone is happy.

heres the trash and awful moves they have done in a summary.
- Holding period for two days on trades
Honestly who added this lets be honest, trashes everything. A Decade long system that worked perfectly and built an economy so powerful, but remember roblox doesn’t understand the community there on a higher more disfunct level so they decided to add this and ruin it.
Values will drop and change, trading becomes slower and even worse half of the month of paying for premium you cant even trade making such a scammy subscription as roblox’s money hungry greed comes out, the cons outweight the pros here, there on thin ice
- UGC Limiteds Taxes and certain parts of the feature
UGC limiteds were great on paper, but there are so many item clones and roblox is indenial about taking them down, they say they have had a 99% witnessed report drop because they dont read them and ugc limiteds are just unprofitable when it goes to resale, the taxes just dont make it worth especially for ones that could actually do well. You also give ugc creators little compensation and they can barely make there robux back with the heavy price of stocks. There useless and roblox is prioritizing a tragic useless feature.
- Roblox turning limiteds irregular
This is stupid, causes roblox catalog to feel dead, empty and also leaves these offsale items that are demanded like workclock headphones to rot. Many people will clone them as ugc items and honestly at this point roblox is approving cloning them so yes. Also just the feeling of all these old items going limited and finally having a fresh limited economy felt great and it gave me hope the team running the marketplace had at least some community interaction, guess UGC sucked that away from them.
Many players were pumped about the possibilities with avatar customization and finally being able to get there accessories that they have always dreamed of to own, It also makes no sense how half done it is for example workclock headphones need to go limited, like hello ?. It just seems so wild how a real company can go from doing something so well and then falling off within months over a judgement that they think is correct but the community hates but the marketplace department continue to be quiet, continue to not listen to feedback, all i wish was for them to listen.
Thats so many major losses this year roblox, it aint outweighing the cons and your killing features left and right without releasing the consequences, now your on thin ice with another wave of outrage from the community, i wish i could go back to last year when the catalog had hit its peak, take me back to the days .
This is just a kind request to please reconsider what your doing with trading, this is going to entirely destroy your trading economy
Or they can just make a security question like every other site does, that only that specific person would know like “Whats your pet dogs name” or whatever? ORR they could just make the holding for limiteds 200k+ in rap, ORRR they could just actually fix their security, instead of completely ruining a community
Trading is meant to be fast paced, items can drop in recent average price and “Value” which are created by traders for each and every item, if the item is slow moving its bound to drop. it kills demands and everything, its a lot of things to interpret and i think so many people will respond to this one going crazy lol.

There are many way better ways to improve the security revolving the trading system on Roblox, here is a few examples.
What if item X becomes less valuable during the 2 day holding period? Will User B get in trouble for selling to User A if User A decides to contact Roblox support to potentially get the trade reversed? Or will User A just take the loss, when User A could’ve just immediately traded away item X had there been no holding period?
Trading is fast-paced, the 2 day holding period deletes the fast-pacedness of item values and trading. Hope this helps.
Most people trade with the intention to profit, not just to swap items for ones they like a bit more. And as most people want to make profit the margins to make profit are often times quite slim on every trade which is why people want to do lots of trades in order to make a lot of profit. And this update ruins the potential to do that by slowing down the process.
It normally works like that however User A and User B would also repeat this process several times within the same day or week and if you don’t have a lot of items to work with it could be crippling to your progress if you want to make enough profit to finally afford a Dominus for example. It’s really detrimental to people who want to work their way up from having almost nothing, people who already have items worth hundreds of thousands won’t have a much different experience but there’s also so much less people trading with that much in value.
Ok, but a non trader will wonder why are you trying to sell an item that you just bought. You didn’t want it to begin with you just wanted to flip is as the price goes up hopefully. That is trading I guess. (as in day trading stocks)
Its a different function of trading. So I guess the day trading of limiteds has been killed.
Trading of items that you want to keep hasn’t been killed.
New traders who want to trade up to items they want will now be unable to make a lot of profit and therefore heavily struggle to reach items that they want.
The trading community is going to be severely damaged by this, not the people who wish to trade items they already own for an item they want and can afford then never trade again.
I don’t think the holding period is related to the value, it is related to the validity of the trade. Was the account compromised or was it a legit trade. You have 2 days to figure it out.
I wouldn’t think a drop in value would reverse a trade during the holding period, but idk.
Please stop doing “what-ifs” and mentioning “non-traders.”
Non-traders are not effected because they’re non-traders. This doesn’t concern them. The progress towards “trading of items you want to keep” has been exponentially slowed down. From what used to take months will now take several years if you are not able to complete trades to getting higher RAP and Value quickly.

Will the rap difference matter on the holding period?
They could honestly fix the update by changing the pending times from days to hours and get rid of the 30-wait period altogether.
I think item holds are a good way to improve security since I’ve seen many traders suffer from scamming, getting stolen limiteds unknowingly, account break-ins, etc.
The only reason people hate them right now is because the wait periods are simply too long, so I do think that massively decreasing the amount of time alone can make this update a lot more useful imo.
Since many traders can usually get hacked and lose everything simply because everything can be traded so quickly, I just find it best if they simply improve this concept instead of getting rid of it.
