Can’t wait till this rolls out for public servers, I’m having to use regular textures for now because I need the use of “OffsetStuds” as seen here -

Texture above door not lining up

Normal Texture:
Able to offset texture to align with others

Looks really nice to see the tiles pop out though and it also makes the lighting work better so I’ll definitely be switching over to it once this is fully released.

Thanks! Tbh, I was just shocked when I found out about GlobalWind, which they plan to add. It would be great to be able to expose not only grass and clouds to the wind, but also objects, that hang on a rope, clothes (how would like to be able to create a fabric simulation)

Can someone help me? I forgot which individual goes into the roblox maps.

I know that Rough goes into RoughnessMap and Normal goes in NormalMap, but I don’t know about the rest.

Diffuse would go into ColorMap
Doesn’t seem to be a metalness map provided so you probably won’t need a texture for that if it’s not a metallic material

looks really nice, try swapping the ground material for some sand around the lake. keep up the good work, there are so many new possibilities for low poly styles in Roblox now!

Yah, the current implementation seems really limiting to me. It doesn’t seem very composable as the material is global to every part/mesh.

OMG EVERYONE, I just had the Best idea for actual BLENDING for water, Like realistic blending with the terrain.

So for the “Snow” (Material Service) I made it so the Snow texture has a Swampy water texture to it. And it doesnt look that bad.

now ik that the Terrain wont move or anything but if roblox Fixes the water issue, then this could happen. or u can just use those realistic water meshes from the toolbox and use surfaceappearance or materialservice when its fully released.

Question, How did you get so many sharp terrain materials? All I know of is Rock and Basalt

Concrete is a possible material for that

Yeah, it seems like Rock, Basalt, Concrete, Cracked Lava, and Pavement all are soemwhat jagged.

Would be helpful. Especially since Roblox wants to change old textures.

Noticed this too. Used the same materialvariant for both terrain slate and part slate, both set to white (although terrain color doesn’t seem to affect materialvariants), but terrain turns green.
