I suppose this was implemented as a feature preserving the future plans of selling your animations, perhaps? Not having planned allowing animation previews, they made it required to descrive the animation?

No, if he has a previewer it’ll be an extension. It’s not an official thing yet. For example I know @AntiBoomz0r’s BTR has an animation previewer, turning that off I don’t see any official feature.

Sadly, no. But they have in fact announced it to be one of their future plans (can’t re-locate the source)

Plugins also require a description. Can we have that constraint removed as well? Even if a description is required, people will either just write “description” or copy+paste the “Description is required” text, so it doesn’t make much sense to have it. The most it contributes is making it annoying to upload plugins that only I will use or in cases where I want to write the description later.
We’ll look into removing this restriction for plugins too.
