User data failing to load in singleplayer tests

Reproduction Steps
Simply run a play test in Studio. Test servers (Studio) and online servers (client) do not seem to produce this issue.

Expected Behavior
User information including UserId and avatar appearance should load in.

Actual Behavior
Player Instance is named “unknown,” UserId is 0, avatar appearance defaults to “noob” avatar. The only error I get is, Error checking in group: Player:IsInGroup failed because HTTP 400 (Bad Request).

This had just started happening between play tests in the past half hour. I don’t consider it to be a development breaking issue, although it is interfering with my ability to test the parts of my game which require UserId.

It is not a virus, I have not installed any plugins or inserted any toolbox models recently. This consistently happens in any place I open, but exclusively in singleplayer play tests.

I’m hearing that Studio updated recently, perhaps this has something to do with it.

It seems like a lot of people are experiencing issues related to loading their character.

I’m getting this issue right now when trying to publish.

Probably related.

I also get a character named “unknown+DN” (UserID = 0) and the same error you listed.

Well, do you have the singleplayer datastore enabled?
Datastores don’t ususally work for single-player ususally for some reason.

The issue appears to have been resolved, at least on my end. Not sure if there was a rollback, but I’ll mark this as solved for now. Actually seeing as other people are still experiencing it, I’ll unmark it.

happening to me to right now. Did y’all find any solution for this situation?

Hey everyone!

The OP’s issue was resolved, however if other developers are still experiencing this, please file a new bug report, so we can track it better internally!

Thank you!
