User not found when paying out

Description

When attempting to add a One-time Payout recipient, an admin-level user (NeverTrustBob) in the group does not appear.

If I recall correctly, the search usually sorts in descending order by rank? If so, this is not happening. The 6 slots are obscured by other users with a similar name. There is no scrollbar to reveal additional search results. This bug is especially troubling as it prevents developers from accessing group funds to DevEx.

I have attempted and reproduced this on Chrome and Edge.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Revenue Tab
  2. Payouts
  3. One-Time Payout
  4. Add Payout Reciepient
  5. Search a user with a non-unique name

When it started happening

We noticed it about ~ 4 days ago.

System Specifications

  1. CPU : i7-8700k
  2. GPU : RTX 2080
  3. Memory : 32 GB DDR4

This appears to be an issue with the search algorithm. NeverTrustBob doesn’t appear when searching for players (on any of the pages). However, he does appear when searching under the “Members” tab of Configure Group.

Sometimes this happens when an account gets into a weird state in elasticsearch. @NeverTrustBob can you either update your description to force a reindex, or file a cs ticket?

I realize the first suggestion is a bit weird but it should solve the problem if it is in fact the problem :grimacing:

I am having the same issue I cannot find my user? Trying to send funds to my account but when I look in the “Members” tab of configure group It shows me but cannot when I’m trying to send a one-time pay out it shows nothing there.

Just have them clear their bio on their roblox profile I know it sounds strange but that is what fixed my issue. I had it arise again recently but the same thing changing it to something like “Seriously” worked wonders for me.

Just had the same issue, I was able to go around the issue by searching the users previous name.

This has arisen for me as well, I cannot find myself in the payout recipient search.

Tried what @Noxielotl did with the previous name but to no avail.

Update: Included a fallback to ensure that a direct match is always showing for a valid user.
