Using ALT + F4 to close Roblox produces a crash error

Expected behavior

Using ALT+F4 should produce no error.

I cannot personally reproduce this issue on my end, are you doing something to cause this crash to occur? More details may be needed given that it isn’t 100% consistent across all devices / scenarios.

Just thought that I’d give you the heads up on that so that staff can address this as soon as they get around to this bug-report rather than needing to ask the same type of questions about what causes the actual crash.

Just wondering, do you use bloxstrap?

I can confirm that I’ve had this happen to me at least 3 times within the past couple of days. Didn’t really think much of it until I saw this though.

This has happened for me even when I click “X” to close out of Roblox quickly. It seems to detect it as a crash when you close it too quickly.

Bloxstrap not changes anything. I had this error without and with it.

I have had this error for about a month now too.

Yes. I have no FFlags on though.

I dont think bloxstrap or any bootstrapper has anything to do with causing errors.

It used to cause similar errors one time Roblox updated, to which they couldn’t launch and flooded the support channel.

Did it have something to do with roblox adding a new file to their package manifest?

I have no clue about all that, all I know is that it causes older versions of Bloxstrap used with ZBeta to have a error when launching.

This also happens to me too on Windows 10

I always use altf4 to close Roblox and rarely I will get the notif

This has not happened to me either, though I rarely use alt f4 to close Roblox. But when I do, there haven’t been any crash messages.

That wouldn’t change anything, modified clients are against the ToS and bloxstrap is not a client modification. It has no way to impact how the client operates, including error handling and detection.
Bloxstrap only modifies flags already built into the client, often those used in ab testing for beta features or features purposefully locked from normal user access due to instability on certain systems or because they’re incomplete.

Yes, Bloxstrap is a bootstrapper. I explained this before, older versions of it caused an issue when launching into the “ZBeta” deployment channel, and sometimes gave a weird error when leaving games, that’s why I thought it was related.

Bloxstrap has been known to occasionally cause issues like this.
