Using the MIT License for my project, how would I do it?

I’m going to use the MIT License for my current project, but I’m not completely sure how to use it, I did some research, and most people have mixed opinions, so what should I do?

You can go to github and make a test repository and set it there, copy and paste that with your username and copyright year.
For anyone else who reads this:
this will appear once you make a repository

click the button pointed by arrow, now you can select the license.
