Holiday Update! (Dec. 23 - Jan. 20)
Holiday rewards are back, and the map has become wintery and festive for the holiday season!
Earn Candy Canes as you play RHS2 by attending classes, completing part-time jobs, or playing in Roleplay Mode! Candy Canes can be spent in the Holiday Rewards Shop run by Lucia the Elf. The holiday items from previous years are available in the shop, and there are also 5 brand new Vehicle Skins which can be purchased in the shop!
If you’d prefer to get the rewards right away, Candy Canes can also be directly purchased using the panel by the shop.
Candy Canes can be earned via gameplay through Jan 17. You’ll then have some time to spend any leftover Candy Canes before the event ends on Jan 20.
The Arctic Dasher and Flying Reindeer are also back on sale for the holidays!
New Outdoors Furniture
40 new Outdoors furniture items have been added, including trees, bushes, fences, patio furniture, and more!
You can find them all under the “Outdoors” item set in the House Editor.
New Level of Detail Settings
There are new level of detail settings on all platforms, available via RHS2’s Settings menu! This lets you reduce the visual quality of the game to make it perform better on your device.
New settings:
- Low-detail mode: When on, this removes many decorative assets (such as trees, bushes, etc.) from the outdoors map. This is ON by default on mobile.
- Disable shadows: Determines whether shadows are displayed on the map. This has no effect on players’ houses (shadows will always be displayed there). Turning shadows off may improve performance significantly. Shadows are DISABLED by default on mobile.
- Disable main map textures: Removes all textures from the main map (such as sign graphics, floor patterns, building textures, etc.) This takes effect on the next game join.
Other Adjustments
- Shadows have been disabled for many smaller objects in the school to improve performance
- Adjusted the prices of: Wings, Invisibility Cape, Astral Cloak, Hyperbike, Motorcycle, School Bus, Sports Car, Racecar
- These items were originally made much cheaper once the Graduation Update released, but their prices turned out to be way too low, devaluing some of the game’s best items and making them too easy to obtain. These high-end items should remain special and more rare, so their prices have been increased again.
- For Advanced House Editor gamepass owners: Increased the house exterior item limit from 100 to 120
- Since the map’s performance has been improved, we can now slightly increase the exterior item limit for gamepass owners. We do have to be careful with this limit (since going too high could cause more performance issues, and once we increase it, it can’t ever be reduced)
- Various bug fixes have been made to the map
