I have verified my account and enabled the option for voice chat to work in-game, but when I join a VC enabled game, my mic thingy doesn’t show up above my head, and I’ve looked in the in-game settings and I can’t fix it

Make sure that the game does have voice chat feature enabled to use it in-game. In case the issue would persist after you joined voice chat game, you could also try disabling your voice chat and enabling it once again since you might have just encountered bugs.
