Vesteria Gameplay Guide

Locations:

SCRUFF’S FARM: This is where you will begin your adventure in the vast land of Vesteria, here resides a humble cabbage farmer who is in need of your help to revitalize his sick wife! (Quest: Scruff’s Quest) After saving his wife, Scruff will give you a handsome reward and your second quest, delivering a letter to Mushtown’s Mayor Noah. After obtaining the letter, follow the path to reach MUSHTOWN.

MUSHTOWN: First major town map. Recommended quest:

  1. Mayor Noah’s questline. Optional quests in this area include:
  2. Abigail’s Apples (Level 2+ required)
  3. Wheel Woes (Level 3+ required)
  4. A Respected Guard (Level 6+ required)

MUSHROOM FOREST: [Lvl.2-Lvl.6] The first Wild map, home to shrooms galore and the forest elder. Optional quests in this area include:

  2. Xero’s Treasure Hunt. Boss mob in this area:
  • Rootbeard (Level 12) - A tree with a beard infected by fungi of the mushroom forest that spawns after a certain number of enemies are killed. Transitions to:
  • THE CLEARING [Lvl.7+] (following the road path)
  • MUSHROOM GROTTO [Lvl.7-Lvl.13] (Climb to the top of the collapsed tower, and follow the path to the largest mushroom growing out of a stump)

MUSHROOM GROTTO: [Lvl.7-Lvl.13] Secret Wild map full of Elder Shrooms and Poisoned Shrooms. Boss mob in this area:

  • Chad (Level 13) - A muscular shroom that spawns every 15 minutes (XX:00, XX:15 etc.). Transitions to:
  • GREAT CROSSROADS [Lvl.7-Lvl.15]

THE CLEARING: [Lvl.7+] Wild map, and the entrance to NILGARF. Full of Hogs. Brutus the City Guard will kick you out if you attempt to enter the city without being at least Level 7.

NILGARF: Main hub city. Filled with many utilities and amenities. Including a bank to store and share any type of item amongst all slots, unique vendors, and the pet shop. Quests in this area include:

  1. Who’s Da Boss (Level 10+ required)
  2. The Family Jewel (Level 17+ required) Notable NPCs:
  • Monsieur Fred - Premium store owner, NPC to claim Spider Pet and Alpha player gifts

SHIPROCK BOTTOM: [Lvl.17-Lvl.23] A Wild ocean map inhabited by the snels, legend has it that sharks roam here. Quests in this area include:

PORT FIDELIO: [Lvl.10+] [Faction Home] A large and sprawling port city, ideal for training new Hunters.

THE GAUNTLET: [Lvl. 40+] A bridge occupied by bandits, after defeating them, Hunters will occupy it. Quests in this area include:

  1. Lost Palace [Lvl.35+ and the Lost Journal required]

WHISPERING DUNES: [Lvl. 35-45] A giant Wild desert map. Quests in this area include:

  1. Sun Shards [No level Requirement] (unofficial name as it is not tracked in the quest book) Boss mobs in this area:
  • Scarab (Level 45) - A giant beetle that can shoot acid at the player.
  • Azariah The Blood-crazed (Level 40) - A giant bandit wielding his signature blade. Spawns every 15 minutes at XX:05, XX:20, XX:35 and XX:50.
  • Auktufiti The Watcher (Level 40) A giant bandit skirmisher who sits atop his tower. Spawns every 15 minutes at XX:15, XX:30, XX:45 and XX:00.
  • Sarakis The Impaler - A massive dark scorpion defending her brood. Spawns every 15 minutes at XX:10, XX:25, XX:40 and XX:55

THE PIT: [Lvl.35-50] An acidic chamber located below a maze in Nilgarf Sewers. Requires the [Lost Palace] to be complete for entry. Attempting to enter without meeting the requirements will cause the Pit Dweller to instantly kill the player.

Boss mob in this area:

  • Possum The Devourer - A giant opossum with red eyes and teeth. Spawns every hour.

Equipment upgrades:

SCROLLING RULES: Each weapon and armor can have 7 scroll upgrades applied to them.

  • Headgear can have 3 scroll upgrades applied to them.
  • Scroll upgrades count even when the intended effect fails to apply.
  • Some advanced scrolls exist which do not add upgrades directly but instead modify existing upgrades or attributes.
  • BASIC SCROLL (100%) - A tier 1 upgrade to the main equipment stat. Gives +3 ATK/DEF.
  • GREAT SCROLL (70%) - A tier 2 upgrade to the main equipment stat, but with a small chance to fail. Gives +6 ATK/DEF.
  • DARK SCROLL (70%) - A tier 3 upgrade to the main equipment stat, but failing has an unlikely chance to also destroy the item. Gives +9 ATK/DEF.
  • ANCIENT STAT SCROLL (10%) - A tier 4 upgrade to the main equipment stat, but very likely to fail. This scroll drops with different stat variants which apply a special bonus stat to the upgrade. Gives +12 ATK/DEF WITH 3 of the stat of the scroll.
  • ANCIENT SCROLL (15%) - A tier 5 upgrade to the main equipment stat, but very likely to fail. Gives +15 ATK/DEF.
  • CURSED SCROLL (60%) - Applies a random upgrade to an item, which can be a tier 1 through tier 8 upgrade, or even a negative upgrade. This can give -6 to +24 ATK/DEF. Has a small chance to make up to two additional stat rolls, which can also be negative.
  • Due to its extreme power, this is the only scroll which can make an EXALTED GREEN-TIER ITEM, but the chance to make your item worse or completely destroy your item makes it a difficult and unpredictable scroll to use.
  • As a newer player, it is often better to sell this scroll to someone else who knows what to do with it.
  • HOLY SCROLL - A legendary scroll which has the unique power of removing a failed upgrade from an item.
  • RESET SCROLL - Removes all upgrades that have been applied to an item.

COSMETIC RESET SCROLL

  • Removes all cosmetic effects that have been applied to an item.

ITEM NAMETAG

  • Applied to an item to grant it a custom name.

INK & QUILL

  • Applied to an item to add a line of custom lore.

COLOR DYES

  • Applied to an item to tint it with a certain color.

FOUNTAIN PEN

  • Applied to an item to add a signature line to it.

Equipment upgrade tiers:

An equipment will be colored based on the effectiveness of the upgrades applied to it.

The tier colors are as follows: GREY, WHITE, BLUE, PURPLE, RED, GOLD, EXALTED GREEN

Other info:

FISHING:

  • Fishing rods can be used in water to obtain consumable fish which provide unique buffs.
  • An old fishing rod can be purchased from Kevin Jr’s Fishing Supplies in Port Fidelio.
  • additional fishing rods which allow for rarer fish to be caught can be earned by completing the Luck of the Sea quests in Scallop Shores.

GIANT ENEMIES:

  • Giant enemies can rarely spawn in place of a normal enemy.
  • Giant enemies have more health, deal more damage, and drop unique items such as scrolls and giant tokens when killed.
  • Giant tokens can be exchanged in Great Crossroads at the Bounty Shop for various scrolls.

CHESTS:

  • Chests can be found throughout Vesteria and contain a variety of items.
  • Wooden chests have randomized loot consisting of Mushcoin, potions, and rarely, equipment or Ethyr crystals.
  • Bluesteel chests contain non-randomized loot similar to that found in wooden chests but usually of a higher quality.
  • Golden chests are hard-to-find chests which always contain exclusive non-randomized equipment.

THE STRANGER:

  • A mysterious NPC that only shows on the weekend, always in a random location every time it appears, with a random inventory and prices.

PARTIES:

  • You and your friends in the same server can band together for an experience bonus and a portion of theirs.
  • The more people there are in a party, the higher the experience bonus. You also cannot damage your party members in PvP enabled zones.
