Victoria • Game Rules

Playing Victoria is not a right and you may be banned for any appropriate reason. These rules are not exhaustive, you are expected to use common sense. Attempts to loophole will not be taken lightly.

These rules can be updated at any time. They were last changed on 2024/08/16.

Fail roleplay (FRP)

Non-exhaustive examples of what constitutes fail roleplay:

  • Failing to adhere to basic roleplay actions, such as *grabs*

    • Roleplay actions that control another character are an exception. For instance, you can’t force another player to slip on a banana. It’s recommended to go along with these actions, but it’s not required if it harms roleplay.
  • Unrealistic or unfair actions, such as:

    • tasering an individual from a height of 10ft or higher (about a 2 story building)
    • using a pepper gun, taser, or pepper spray during a shootout
    • cuffing or tasering through an unbroken window
    • jumping from a high area into a body of water during an active police interaction
    • car surfing: standing on the hood or roof of a moving car
    • using spike strips in a checkpoint or to stop a suspect from driving away from a traffic stop – they’re meant for pursuits
    • using placeables as cover or climbing devices, except for placeables specifically meant for this such as protective glass and ladders
  • Forcing yourself into an ongoing scene unrealistically. For instance, by ramming your car into the scene

  • Randomly killing someone, disrupting an ongoing scene unrealistically

  • Using out-of-character knowledge to your advantage, called metagaming

  • Killing someone in a spawn area before they’ve left the spawn point

  • Flipping a vehicle during a pursuit, unless the vehicle tipped over because of a game bug.

    • As a civilian, you can flip after 90 seconds if there aren’t any pursing police vehicles in sight.
    • As a police officer, you can flip 90 seconds after you lose sight of all suspects.
  • Attention seeking, such as randomly ramming your car into police officers

  • On several occasions, randomly and indiscriminately killing civilians without provocation or roleplay intent; especially if you don’t engage in roleplay after an indiscriminate or random mass killing

New life rule (NLR)

If you’re killed in game, your life ends and a new one begins. Resetting and random killing does not trigger a new life, it has to be roleplay related.

If police officers kill a criminal, they can’t be arrested for crimes in their previous life. This doesn’t apply to arrest warrants.

As a civilian or police officer

Returning to a place of death, without:

  • At least 5 minutes passing
  • Going to the place of death for another reason or motive, different to your previous “life”

is a violation of the new life rule.

As a police officer

Pursuing your killer using information obtained in your last life, without:

  • one of the conditions above (for civilians and police officers) applying
  • a 911 call or radio message about the situation

If your killer commits a new crime, after your death, you can still pursue them for that crime. But you can’t use information from your past life within 5 minutes of death.

Resetting or leaving to avoid action

Leaving to avoid action (LTAA) is exiting the game for the sole purpose of evading action (combat, arrest, etc.)

Resetting to avoid action (RTAA) is using the reset feature or death through unintended mechanics for the sole purpose of evading action (combat, arrest, etc.)

If a user is being chased by police, then resetting or leaving without a reason (such as a game glitch) is considered LTAA/RTAA. If a user has been out of sight for 5 minutes or longer, they are considered to have successfully eluded law enforcement and may leave or reset.

Abusing game mechanics

Abusing game mechanics or bugs in an unintended way. For example:

  • Spamming 911

  • Shooting or cuffing through walls or doors

  • Dance clipping to get through a wall or door

Serious abuses, such as money duplication, will result in a permanent ban. Such bugs should be reported immediately to group oversight.

Platform rules

Roblox’s Community Standards rules apply in all games, including Victoria. Scenes which violate platform rules are not permitted, for example roleplay or messages incorporating self-harm, positive or supportive references to real-world terrorist groups, recreation of real-world tragedies, and harassment or bullying.

Exploiting is the manipulation of game, engine, platform, or operating system behaviour through third-party software with the aim of inducing the game to act abnormally; this includes lagswitching and locking your FPS to a low value. Exploiting will always result in a permanent ban.

Ban evasion

If you’re caught using another account to bypass any ban, you’ll be permanently banned on all accounts, no matter how long the original ban was.

Ban times

These are the standard ban times, and apply to all violations unless otherwise noted.

  • First ban: server ban or up to 3 day ban, at moderator discretion.
  • Second ban: 7 day ban
  • Third ban: 14 day ban
  • Afterwards, the ban time increases by 7 days for each infraction, starting at 21 days for the 4th ban.
