Viewport Frames mixed with graphics

If you were to track the position of the players on a flat baseplate Using viewport frames, while at the same time underlaying their positions with a graphic, would this prevent lag? Since it would only be showing a few parts, I wouldn’t think so, but I want some thoughts before I try it.

The physics of parts and so on are still calculated even if a GUI is overlapping IIRC. Would like some verification on this though.

I am talking about only putting the players locations inside the frame. The map graphic will just be the background. I would at most be tracking 8 parts.
