Viewport Stutter in Studio

If I try to move in studio’s viewport, the viewport stutters. I have only one beta feature enabled: Next Gen Studio Preview. This is a fresh install of studio.

Expected behavior

No stutter in viewport. I should be able to move the camera freely without frames freezing.

I have also experienced similar problems of stuttering studio viewport. For some purposes to use It, I have some ideas you may want to test: 1. Disable beta features: Beta features can sometimes cause instability. See if turning off the “Next Gen Studio Preview” fixes it. 2. View your graphics particulars. Affordable, widespread appealPerformance could be increased by reducing graphics 3. Update driver: Stutter may be due to outdated graphics drivers. Make sure they are current. 4. Wipe the Cache: Problems with performance, sometimes they are fixed by emptying the cache. Fingers crossed that one of these fixes will get you up and running again! If you figure it out let me know.

I turned off Next Gen Studio Preview and all other betas and the problem still exists.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I cannot use studio at the moment due to this issue. Happens when I press play in studio. Oddly enough, it doesn’t happen on the actual player. Just studio.

All I can say is I can’t even scroll up on this page.

WARNING: SUDDEN TRANSITION TO WHITE.

If you do a fresh reboot of your system and open only Roblox Studio, does the issue go away? (at least temporarily until you open up more stuff putting the system under more load)

Long time no see, hi. It goes away for a short time and then, comes back. I am running on a rig with the following specs: Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 128 GB RAM, RTX 4090 and like 10 TB of storage in various drives.

Even if the system was under load, it should be more than capable to everything studio throws at it.

Known issue. There is a fix on the way for it.

It happens because Studio is doing something that interacts poorly with the number of running threads / processes on the system.

This should be fixed now! (specifically the 1 second periodic spikes, there are still plenty of other things which can cause Studio to drop frames)

Let us know if you’re still running into it.

Weird posting so soon but didn’t want to promise the fix yesterday since it’s a fairly low level one there was a chance we would have to roll back.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and follow up. Means a lot. Issue seems to be fixed and I will let you know if that isn’t the case down the road.

I’m still having this issue, ive done full reinstalls of studio and the client, updated drivers, windows, rebooted my pc, and no matter what studio will sit at about 30~ fps and stutter when moving around the workspace

I can have lighting dropped to voxel, with no post processing, no contents in workspace, and itll still stutter

it is constant no matter what game i open, it just gets stuck at that framerate
Even with disabling betas and removing plugins

My specs:
Ryzen 5 5600x
RX 6600
16 GB Ram

Roblox itself is installed on a 500 GB NVME SSD, with rendering set to Vulkan

Client is fine, hits 200 fps easily even in some demanding games, both on Roblox and off of Roblox

Could you make a new bug report thread with details like microprofiler dumps?

What you’re describing is clearly a different issue. This thread was specifically about periodic lagspikes precisely once every second.

Also, try disabling all your plugins if you haven’t already, this kind of issue is often caused by misbehaving plugins.

my spikes have been fairly consistent, rather than random

I’m quite confident it’s a different issue, please make a separate post to ensure you get a response.

The issue this post is about was a specific API call behaving badly, causing periodic spikes exactly once per second but having zero impact the rest of the time.
