I’ve noticed that me along with many other users are incapable of using the chat with voice feature for seemingly no reason.
It connects and is turned on, but does not output any audio when speaking into your microphone.
The only resolution I could find is to turn voice chat off and on again, which only temporarily works with an about 50% success rate.
This issue happens across all experiences, including mine and any others; however I have seen people saying it’s only happening to them in one specific one (or more) of them.
I am sure that this issue does not exclusively pertain to me or my PC as I have completely reinstalled Roblox, restarted, disabled and reenabled drivers & input devices etc.
I am also unable to find other posts on this for some reason despite the issue seeming to be pretty prevalent and annoying.
Expected behavior
Chat with Voice should be transmitting audio instead of the microphone indicator staying blank.
It appears to happen randomly. I suspect (in my case) that it might be because I’m setting their AudioDeviceInput’s muted property to true on join, but I’m not sure.
I can verify that it isn’t, even games that are completely unmodified templates such as the baseplate can be published with 0 change and will still have this issue
EDIT: Videos were being buggy so I changed the links to Youtube
Hello,
I have returned with a video of the issue I am experiencing.
Below is a video of 2 windows: Audacity and Roblox. I am in a test place and my microphone is toggled on. I play a random test audio I have saved that should be loud enough to go through. Note how you see it recording on the left, but on Roblox, the indicator stays blank.
For the microprofiler capture, I don’t really know how to use it so apologies if I’m not providing what you’re expecting. Here’s a video of me going through it while the bug is occuring.
