Volcano Island Scene

Volcano Island

Hi there! Just wanted to post this relatively old Volcano Island scene which I made to possibly inspire more people to create scenes in Blender and maybe get some feedback on it.

Looks really nice. Maybe this big skull looks kinda weird but I really like low-poly style so I like this whole composition.

That is probably the best if not, one of the best low poly build I’ve ever seen.

Good job!

Looks nice, just the terrain seems unnaturally flat

Hi Benk,

Right off the bat, I’m really liking it. The style is really good and it’s very eye-pleasing, and I have a few suggestions for it.

The island feels a bit flat or somewhat empty as the environment is just rocks, palm trees, flat grass meshes, and some sand. You can make it feel more lively and detailed by adding some grass meshes, bushes, flowers, weeds, and other vegetation that fits the setting.

I noticed that there’s a man-made wood structure and a boat there. Let’s just say that someone came to the island for whatever reason. They probably brought some supplies or something and needed a place to settle. This is the perfect opportunity to add in some barrels/crates to fill the place up a little.

In addition, you can add a tent made of leaves and sticks like in those island movies, and also a campfire, these are things that many people would do if they were on an island with nothing on it. You could add some crates and barrels there as well.

Lastly, I noticed that the two levels of terrain above sea level are flat, you could change that by adding rocks, lumps of grass or sand, trees, etc. This gives it more detail and depth.

I hope this helps.
