[VR] It's impossible to open the Roblox pause menu on Valve Index

Reproduction Steps

Open any game and press all buttons on both of the Index hand controllers. None of the buttons open the Roblox menu.

System Info
CPU: Intel i9-10900K @ 3.7GHz
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti
VR: Valve Index Kit (HMD, Left hand, Right hand)

Tested on
So far, I have tested this in VR Hands and VR Islands. Since this the Roblox pause menu we’re talking about, games cannot override this anyway, so I doubt it matters.

Expected Behavior
I expect the A or B button (n.b. Index has A/B on both controllers, so it’s treated as “Left” or “Right” A/B rather than a single A/B) to open the Roblox menu.

Actual Behavior
No button opens any default Roblox menus whatsoever on either controller.

Workaround
Currently, the only workaround is to utilize an overlay application such as OVR Toolkit to manually focus the Roblox window and use a virtual keyboard to press the escape key. Alternatively, the physical escape key on your real keyboard can be pressed.

When opening the menu this way, it appears incorrectly in that it displays what I believe are Oculus Quest controls (works with A/B/X/Y) in the key rather than native Index controls.

Try it in different games that don’t change the HeadScale, such as a game without VR support. Those games usually use HeadScale to resize the world, making the VR CoreGui smaller to the point of it being “invisible”, as the VR CoreGui (when in selection mode) is on a Part. It’s still there but very small and difficult to point and select until the Headscale is changed to a smaller size. Also there is no button to directly open the roblox menu from my knowledge, you have to press the “select ui” button (Up on right thumbstick on Valve Index), point at the Roblox button and press the select button on your right controller.

Alright, I’ll try this out. Moving the thumbstick didn’t end up doing anything in my first test (it was just for movement). It will be upwards of an hour before I can test, however.

This shouldn’t be the issue, I’ve done a handful of roblox vr on the valve index and I have the same issue. I’ve also noticed in games like Vr Hands that the left trigger acts how the right lower trigger would on something like an oculus touch controller. In addition, the knuckle controllers’ thumb tracker just duplicates the joystick input, which is annoying when you accidentally tap it while in a game.

Still an issue. Valve index is unable to open the radial menu and even manipulate settings. For whatever reason, desktop input is also completely disabled so i cant even click menu options via desktop while in VR. Also missing some other things like finger tracking, and gripping the controller triggers jumping for some reason instead of the jump button, and there is no way for me to rotate myself. Unplayable to any extent, since all you can do is stand in place, move IRL, and jump…

This is also an issue for my Vive Cosmos Elite, although I have found a work around (using SmoothTransition movement in Nexus VR Module) this is awfully frustrating. If I did not have this work around then I would not be able to interact with the Roblox Pause menu whatsoever.
