[VR] Screen will go black when getting close to very large objects rather than going through the object

When playing in VR, the screen will usually go black when you phase through walls or objects.
However, with larger objects, the screen goes black even if you just get near these objects.

The effect should also not occur for slightly transparent objects, but I still see it happen anyway.

This is a problem because the screen will suddenly become black for no apparent reason, which is VERY disorienting.
I also suggest this feature be removed; it is not very helpful and just causes jarring visuals.
I am also not sure if this is caused by the VR module I am using; if that is the case, let me know and I’ll remove this report.

Attached is a video of the problem. It was recorded on a Meta Quest 3.

Expected behavior

I expect to be able to get up close to large objects, only phasing out when I walk through the object or put my head through it.

But instead, the blackness happens when getting near the object.

Hi, are you still experiencing this issue? This problem doesn’t seem to occur on my end.

If you are still experiencing this issue, can you please provide a place/experience in which we can test this problem?

Thanks!

I will check if this is still an issue later, but I may forget to do so.
Speaking of issues, is there a way to turn off the new in-game menu scheme for VR? I really do not like the way the menus are positioned to the side and the fact I have to recenter to access menus

At the moment, there is no way to disable the new in-game menu as it is currently intentional, but we are actively iterating on it in order to optimize the user experience. Thanks for the feedback! :hugs:

In regards to the original issue, I’m going to close this ticket since we could not reproduce the bug. If the issue is still occurring, then please feel free to open a new ticket with details mentioned from @itsvoquix.
